The Strange Doings In My Backyard.

I guess I can tell you all, I live in Detroit. It is a nice neighborhood. There is only one abandoned house on the block (next door to me, naturally). But the neighbors keep things up nicely, otherwise.

Believe me, there is very little trash in the neighborhood. Except in my backyard.

I rarely ever go to my backyard. I don’t use it for anything, so I have no need to. But when I do, I am amazed at what I find. Candy wrappers, paper cups from fast food places, and grocery bags. I don’t find these things in my front yard. I know what you all will say. The wind just blows it in. But for that to happen, it would have to go thru my backyard gate. And as I said, I never notice that.

Then just the other day, I saw something to beat it all. A beer can! Someone maybe drinking beer–in my backyard!

Still though, I never catch people interloping into my backyard. So how does all this stuff get there?

Any thoughts any of you could give me on the matter will be greatly appreciated:)

No good punk kids! Maybe not hanging out back there, but at the very least just chucking shit over the fence.

Why would the detritus have to go through your gate, couldn’t it go over it? There’s plenty of hours in the day and night you won’t notice what’s going over your fence or gate.

My first Detroit neighborhood isn’t doing as well as yours but I have hope it will improve.

I’m guessing some of it blows over or through the fence and some of it is thrown over. If you have an abandoned house next door, you may have some folks who hang out there and huck stuff over your fence. You might also have some inconsiderate neighbors.

I’d set up a cheap camera with motion detection built in - a lot of the cheapie models designed primarily for use as dashcams have a motion sensor mode.

Then you’ll know what’s really happening. You might be happier now, not knowing, though.
