The stuff attractive women can get away with beggars the imagination

Warning number one: “I’m not crazy”

Warning number two: I forget, I just noticed how sheer her blouse was.

I don’t know what the OP means by “get away with.” There are plenty of comments on YouTube calling her a stalker, a slut, a whore or a faker, or noting how much creepier this would be if she weren’t so pretty.

Personally, I’m in the faker camp. I think this is an attempt at viral marketing, or maybe just someone who really, really wants attention.

She can stalk me any time she wants.

Moving thread from IMHO to MPSIMS.

“Missed Connections” used to be a staple of newspaper singles ads. This is just a high-tech version. The only way it become stalking is if the guy says “No, thanks” and she keeps hounding him.

Don’t stick it in the crazy.

Nah, if an ugly guy did it he would be a laughing-stock, and the video would be linked to for humorous value. Same deal if it were an ugly girl, I think.

Assuming for the sake of argument that the facts as presented are true, what should she have done? A fellow lost an item that’s probably valuable enough that he’d want it back, and she’s taking a course of action that’s likely to result in him getting it back. If he didn’t feel the same chemistry that she did, he can just call her up and say “That’s my coat, thanks for holding it for me. Bye.”.

This morning she appeared on one of the big breakfast TV shows, and from the description of the situation her story sounds pretty flimsy. I reckon it’s a marketing stunt, she seems way too desperate for her hotness level and it’s bizzare to me that no one has come forward yet. There’s no way the guy has missed it now that it’s been across all of our national papers and now national TV.

Maybe by doing what anyone else would do if they noticed that someone had left something at a place of business; point it out to a member of the staff so it would be held where he lost it for him to pick up. In fact, this is exactly what I did last year when I noticed that a woman had left something behind when she got off the bus. I brought it up to the bus driver and explained what had happened (by the time I noticed it, the bus had already pulled away from the stop).

If I met an attractive woman at a restaurant who slipped off her lovely pink tights during the conversation and then left them behind, should I slip them on, snap a picture, and put together a website so I can find her? That wouldn’t cost me any friends, right?

FWIW, a quick scan through the craiglist personals for Sidney yields nada

Yeah, what she did would reduce the chances of him finding the jacket, not increase them.

That girl is hot. She could snap her fingers and get any guy she wants. This makes me wonder why she’s making Youtube videos and setting up e-mail accounts and building websites for the sake of some random she met for two minutes in a cafe.

Verdict: Either this whole thing is a bunch of bullshit, or she’s at least a little bit crazy. Personally, I’m leaning towards option 2.

And yeah, if an ugly person of either gender did anything like this it’d be on SomethingAwful in five minutes and in all our inboxes by the end of the day with the e-mail header “Psycho fat bitch thinks she’s in a Tom Hanks movie LOL!!!”

Nope, don’t buy it. My money’s on viral marketing. If she’s not a hired actress I’ll eat my shorts.

Not everyone pays attention to those things, and it was likely a pretty minor event to him, which means that his friends might not know about it, so they wouldn’t be able to alert him if they saw the media reports.

I think it’s conceivable that this could be real and that he hasn’t seen the news.

I didn’t know anything about it until I read this thread this morning, AND I have a jacket just like that, or at least I had one, hmmmm where did I put it? But seriously I just don’t watch much TV or read the papers. I’m sure I’m not the only one.

There is something odd about the video though. I couldn’t watch the whole thing because of all the "um"s and "ah"s and stuff. I would think that a normal person would do the video a couple of times until it says what they want a bit more succinctly.

If you really want a response, you try something like this (scroll down for it)

You’re spot on. That is the accent of an Australian who is acting, not a hot Australian (we have our own accent, you know - I’m still working on getting it 100% right)

A guy leaves behind his jacket and a woman tries to find him via Youtube. O.K., I can almost believe that. But what are the chances that she also happens to look like a model? This is a fake.
