The stuff attractive women can get away with beggars the imagination

It never ceases to amaze.

If a guy did this he’d be stalker of the year, if a woman does this this it’s “cute”.

But … she’s hot!

I’m usually first in line to blow this particular trumpet, but I cannot agree with you. If a guy met a girl, felt a connection, and decided to put himself and a garment she left on YouTube, I don’t think the consensus reaction would be “stalker”.

If a cute guy did the same thing it wouldn’t be stalking, but if an ugly guy did it would be stalking.

Actually, a guy did do the same thing. I don’t have a link to it, but two people had a conversation on a subway, the guy didn’t get the girl’s number so, using the Internet and a composite sketch of her, he was able to track her down. It got a lot of media coverage, too. They went out on a couple of dates but nothing came of it.

ETA: They apparently dated for two months. Here’s a link: SUBWAY LOVE UNTRACKED

In case you hadn’t noticed, she is HOT, therefore no stalking. Left a jacket, hell I might have left my wife for her.

Just kidding babygirl, just a joke, don’t make me sleep on the couch again.

Yup, if it’s a cute guy, it’s charming. If it’s an ugly guy, it’s creepy (probably in some unexplainable way that is supposed to be self-evident and everyone is just expected to understand.)

The story linked in the OP says that Ms. Clarke actually got the idea from the subway guy. So not only has a man “gotten away with it”, he was this woman’s inspiration.

Whether a man or woman does this, it strikes me much more as self-promotion and attention-whoring than stalking. Just someone else hoping to leverage some fame and/or money out of a substance-free internet presence.

I read about this in the newspaper. If it can be believed, the jacket left is supposedly from a line that has not yet been launched.

Attractive woman longing after some guy? Possible. Publicity stunt in order to sell jackets? Sorry, but in my own head, cynicism is stronger than romance.

Heh, I came in to see the sob-squad reactions to this. Yup, an ugly guy probably would get called a stalker for doing this… aaaand if Ms. Clarke was unattractive, she’d be getting off lightly if she was only mocked as being desperate and slutty.

It’s a viral ad?Oh… the humanity!

It’s intresting, scientist are claiming that men and women are different.

Explains why men can take their shirts off in 110 degree weather when women can not.

Now if we’re going to talk about inequities; let’s talk about this.

I don’t see anyone objecting to women taking off their shirts in 110 degree weather, or in fact, weather or any sort at all.
Anyone?

Sure go ahead. I for one will be delighted.

Well, OK. I’m not sure how you feel about man-boobs tho’.
Perhaps I posted poorly. I for one am FOR boobies in public.

I was just trying to say it’s not fair that it’s legal for men but not women.

Where I am, it’s legal for both men and women. Unfortunately, very few people take advantage of it. I’ve seen more burqas than bareness.

It’s a Class 1 misdemeanor in my state, so someone clearly does object.

It’s legal in New York. Of course the only time it happens is at the hippy arts and crafts festivals (and even then, you’re talking 2 women over a 3 day festival). I’m more likely to see boobs at the library.

Huh, based just on the description in the OP and in the article linked, I wouldn’t have really classified her as a stalker, a potential stalker, maybe, but not a stalker. Having watched the video I now feel more like she’s a stalker (or, alternatively, shill for a coat company).

I actually think it’s probably an ad; there’s something about the way she speaking that tweaks my ‘acting’ sense. It might also be that she doesn’t really want to be doing this, like maybe her friend is pushing her to do it or something like that. (I must admit though that I haven’t really spent that much time listening to Australians talk and I may be picking up on a feature of the accent and mistaking it for insincerity.)
