The Sundance Channel and Robert Redford care about the environment ........

So I recently get On Demand and select a movie from the Sundance Channel. Robert Redford comes on for a minute or so before the movie and tells me how concerned he is about the environment.

The movie comes on and within, oh I’d say about 30 seconds, the term and image of an “ass fuck with a reach around” plays.

Just thought I’d share.

When come back bring coherence.

Seriously, this has got to be the biggest non-sequitur I’ve read today. What the hell does Robert Redford and the environment have to do with a reach around? Are you saying reach arounds aren’t environmentally friendly? Or that ass fucking is only available on Pay-per-view?

Have you been drinking? Already?

I’ve tried and I can’t extract any meaning or intent from the OP. Maybe it was a long night.

I thought it was supposed to be pointless…

OTOH, surely a few on the board will find it a bit amusing, perhaps ironic.

I do not think that word means what you think it means.

I mean, unless they were using non-recycled disposable paper towels to clean up, or something.

<snort!>

What movie was it? I’d like to catch that before I head out.

Here’s one definition “Incongruity between what might be expected and what actually occurs”

I certainly didn’t expect that scene after the scene of RR in such a serene setting.

The movie was “My big fat independent movie” and was pretty good.

OOOOH! I get it now!!

No, I don’t.

There’s really nothing to get. The movie, titled “My Big Fat Independent Movie” , did indeed start off with a scene of literal buggery. Reach-around, I don’t remember, but I’m willing to extend the benefit of the doubt here.

Apparently, this isn’t high-brow enough to follow Mr. Redford’s speech about environmentalism. Therefore, it was unexpected.

I thought the movie was rather weak. Had it been made in 1995 instead of 2005, it might have been hilarious. As it was, it was a lot of rather stale Pulp Fiction and Reservoir Dogs references.

Did Redford say that the movie was going to be about the environment? Did he reference the movie at all in his comments?

You know those environmentalists – so one-demensional. No sense of humor. No talent. No ambition. (Unless they’ve been a trustee of the Natural Resources Defense Council for the last 32 years or something like that.)
