The Third Annual Steelers March to the Super Bowl Thread

I didn’t read the thread, but I just hope that the Steelers get good tickets to the game. It sucks to march all the way from Pittsburgh to Detroit and sit in the nosebleeds while watching the Colts score 50 against some poor overmatched NFC team…

I saw you on ER last week. Your makeup was a little smudged…

Someone always has to stop in and pee in the punch. We’ll see what happens when the Steelers get their revenge on the Colts in a playoff game.

By the way, how’s it going, Airman?

It’s official, I’m a jynx on the Steelers. :frowning:

Cincinnati scored the field goal to go up by 7 so I decided to go upstairs and get on the computer. I check nfl.com after a few minutes to see that “oh cool, the Steelers tied it up!”

I return downstairs in time to see the Bengals return the kick off to the Steelers 4 yard line. I can’t watch the game anymore. For the good of the team, I can’t watch. Let me know how it turns out.

I don’t get to see the game today, which is good for my nerves. I’ve been cleaning (OMG, stop the presses).

The last game was so painful to watch I stopped after half time. I’m hoping for the best, but I have a bad feeling today.

I really hope I’m wrong.

My countertops look great, scrubbed and bleached, I’m now cleaning the oven and stove pans, if they win today, this will be the key to our success.

This is pathetic. Our defense needs to change drastically. Why the fuck doesn’t LeBeau realize that OUR BLITZING DOESN’T WORK AGAINST ANYONE ANYMORE. We need to actually cover the fucking pass!

38 - 31

On behalf of everyone in Cincinnati, I’d like to apologize to Airman for our victory today. Pbbbbbbbbblllt!

Who dey!

OK, that seals it, I’m never cleaning my oven again during a game.

Dangit.

Next week, I’ll try the bathroom.

Here are we are in week 13. This is a little premature because the AFC West games haven’t been played yet, but here’s how it’s going. The teams the Steelers need to win are still the same, even more so now that they’ve lost to the Bengals.

Jacksonville beat Cleveland. The Jags haven’t officially clenched the wild card, but they have to lose too many games and the Chiefs and Chargers have to win too many games to really catch the Jaguars. I will say right now that Jacksonville is going in on the wild card.

The AFC West action is what’s really vital for the Steelers’ playoff hopes. The Steelers are playing for the wild card now–they’d have to run the table and the Bengals would have to lose two to even have a chance of winning the division. So we can ignore the Cincinnatti games from here on out in figuring this out. We can also ignore the Jacksonville games from here on out. So, to cut down the summary:

Dallas and Miami in Week 14
NY Giants and Indianapolis in Week 15
The lower record in the San Diego-Kansas City game in Week 16
Denver and Cincinnatti in Week 17

I can keep this up for the next few weeks if anyone is interested.

The bright spot in todays loss is that our offense finally showed up. Sucks that our defense left town, but the offense was awesome. Despite Ben’s picks today, he threw the ball extremely well, especially considering he has a likely broken thumb. He made some amazing passes today (that second TD pass to Ward was absolutely amazing).

Well, Ben played pretty well. Without the turnovers we would have faired better, but let’s face it, we were outplayed again this week. :frowning:  :frowning:

He’s fine. Bored to tears, but fine. He e-mails home every week to bitch about the Steelers.

Robin

I’m going out on a limb this week and taking the Teelers over Da Bearz. Last week’s passing attack proved that the Pitt boys can play, it was their porous D that let them down. Since Chicago has no real passing game, the Steelers can stack the box and stop their admittedly good run game.

Pitt will need to run, tho, so that Big Ben can open up the outs.

I look for it to be all Pitt 1st half, followed by a barely hang on to win D struggle.

Go Steelers! (from a Broncos fan)

Well so far the first quarter isn’t sucking. 7-3 at 1:32 EST. Steelers aren’t on here, and I don’t feel like going to a bar today, so I’ll have to suffer with web cast.

I said I couldn’t watch, but Khadaji’s post has given me hope. I wonder if I can knit with my fingers crossed!

On the other hand, I was out of town for two of the three losses; maybe watching will bring them luck. The way it’s snowing here, I’m not going anywhere!

CJ

It is 14-3 at the half. AND the browns are beating the Bengals by 1 at the half.

Woohoo! We won.

Damn, the Browns almost won too. So *very *close…

Some good, hard games so far today. Nice week to be watching the NFL…

Now THAT’S what I’m talking about! Where has this team been the last 3 weeks? Nice to see a solid running attack, and the defense step up. (though, the Bears don’t exactly have a killer offense.) Let’s run the table the rest of the way.

Now that Week 14 is over, time for an update.

Miami beats the Chargers, Cowboys beat the Chiefs. It was almost made perfect by the Browns, but they had to choke twice to let the Bengals win it in regulation.
The records are now 8-5 all between the Steelers, the Chiefs, and the Chargers. Jacksonville’s loss to Indianapolis helps a bit, but there is no way they’ll lose at home to the Niners next week or the Texans (away) and the Titans for that matter.

This week went almost as well as the Steelers could hope for. They’re still in the playoff picture.
