I believe they start shooting new Sherlock very soon, as in perhaps right now. There’s a great 15 minute interview with Steven Moffat that came out last week where he implies that at one point.
Wait, you mean I’ve been eagerly checking to see when new Sherlock airs, and it hasn’t even been filmed yet?
I say push the Hobbit back to 20-eleventy-something and let’s get on with the Sherlock!
I thought it was excellent, as well. In a way, it has already become underrated to me, which is odd since it just came out. I actually eagerly await the extended cut for it in November.
Nah, Prince Caspian was pretty bad, but Dawn Treader was fine.
Really only the first passed muster - the second buggered about with the storyline entirely too much, especially with the futile and completely non-canon assault on the castle, and the third pretty much tossed away everything in the book for the sake of introducing a new Big Bad Scary Mist.
There is pretty much no way either The Horse And His Boy or The Last Battle are ever going to be made without being tarred as Islamophobic at the very least. I disagree that the Calormenes are actually anything but generic storybook Arabian Nights types and about as Islamic as Ali Baba and the 40 Thieves, but that’s how it’s going to be seen. A shame.
Apparently I am not the only one who liked the film - The Hobbit just crossed the $1 Billion mark!
(Only the 15th film in history to cross that magic billion dollar number…)
So I don’t think they have to worry about breaking even with all three films, and pushing the date back shouldn’t be a source of worry.
I’m still giggling.
