The Three Mavericks

James Garner, Jack Kelly and Roger Moore, right?

Did all three ever appear on the show at the same time?

Thanks

Quasi

I have no idea, but my real name is Maverick and I was never on a show with any of them. I guess that makes four of us. Thanks for asking though!

Yeah, Moore played cousin “Beau”. But I seem to remember another cousin from that final season or before. And no, Quasi, I am almost certain they never all appeared together. That was because Moore did not come on board the show until Garner had suffled off, as it were. The reason I think there was another cousin was that I vaguely remember Kelly appearing with him as Garner played “Pappy” Maverick.

When they did a Maverick made for TV movie about 15 years or so ago, Bret, Bart and a new cousin appeared together. And once on the New Maverick series about a decade ago they had Jack Kelly do one cameo. And there was a rumor that Moore can be seen in the big gambling scene on the riverboat in Maverick the movie, but I never have been able to find him.

…why was Maverick “livin’ on Jackson Queens”, and what the hell were they?

Before you dismiss me as a complete dope, please understand that I came to the US from Germany in 1960, and LOVED westerns!

I just never understood why Maverick had to live on Jackson Queens unless they were whores, and he was their pimp.

This is your opportunity to fill in some missing TV history for the now 50+year ol’ German boy, TV!

That’s “livin’ on jacks and queens.” You know, playing cards.

[I’m pretty sure Quasi is just toying with us, but I answered anyway. He *could* be serious.]

No, my friend! I did not know this! REALLY! I’m not playing with you, and I AM serious! I REALLY thought it was Jackson Queens

I TRIED to let you know in a previous post, that I didn’t understand!

Sorry if you felt I was trying to pull one over on you. I really didn’t KNOW! I was a kid in 1960 trying real hard to learn English. I didn’t pay attention to semantics.

Not toying with you, just shaking my head.

For the truly trivial…
Roger Moore, who had appeared in 15 episodes (as Beau Maverick) left the series prior to the end of the fourth season. The studio then introduced another Maverick brother, Brent, played by Robert Colbert. Colbert appeared in only two episodes.

Then in 1979, Charles Frank (one of those guys with two first names) starred at Ben Maverick in
Young Maverick
