I just watched it the other night with the girlfriend. Very funny movie. There is a scene where an airplane appears very briefly in the background, almost head on to the camera. I said “That’s a C130”. She said, “There’s no way you can make that out!” Did anyone else notice it? They guys just left an inn and were on the road to the next one. I’m surprised they didn’t re-shoot the scene.
The Trip… 1967? 2002? 2010? I haven’t seen any of them, but knowing which film might help people who have. Any chance you can find a screen shot?
That movie’s opening in my area this weekend, I’m eagerly looking forward to it. Will try to keep an eye out for your mystery plane, but if the identification requires visual familiarity with aircraft types, I won’t be much help.
Does it say “C-130” on it somewhere, or do you just happen to know what a C-130 (WeverTF that is ) looks like?
(P.S. Johnny, I’m assuming the OP means the new movie with Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon.)
A C-130 is a big-assed transport plane. Hard to mistake one for anything else.
I agree with DrFidelius. My childhood home was on an approach path for military planes, and the C-130 has not only a distinctive look, but also a very distinctive sound. There is no way I should be able to know, but I can always tell that particular plane by sight or sound. It’s almost bizarre what gets stuck in one’s brain sometimes!
Went to see “The Trip” last night. Briefly remembered this thread on the way to the theater, then completely forgot about it while actually watching the movie and didn’t keep an eye out for planes.
So I can give you no help at all about the mysterious alleged airplane in one of the scenes, except to tell you that it wasn’t obtrusive enough to get my attention.
Sorry about that! Loved the movie, though, it was great.
