So, apparently a Truman Show TV series is in development at Paramount. Not sure if it’s a good idea, but the Lost thread got me thinking. Could this be made to work as a mystery show like Lost, except that the audience knows the answer but the main character doesn’t? Unlike Lost, there is no chance that things won’t be tied up neatly- after all, the final solution is known. The real question is how Truman will figure it out.
You can’t go back to Truman under the dome. That’s been done and resolved. What you could do is a series with Truman trying to adjust to the outside. Think about it – a world-famous celebrity with absolutely no concept of how real life works.
Sure you can. There’s been a number of shows based on movies that were done and resolved. Without Googling, Logan’s Run, MAS*H, and The Courtship of Eddie’s Father come to mind. With a little research, you could probably come up with a lot more.
I think we have enough of those already.
