Based on Mamdani’s platforms, I don’t think it’s a slam-dunk that he gave a sweetheart deal to trump, which would doom his career the instant word got out (unless he somehow cheated trump out of prime property which would then be turned over to the city).

Marco is doing something that, under “old-normal” circumstances, he’d not do for about a year. Draw a line between his and Trump’s policies and make Vance a stooge of Trump. Then, again under the “old-normal” he can primary Vance and if there’s nobody else (Trump?) he gets the Presidential nomination.
He may as well as signed his resignation as he’s gone soon. He’ll be “little Marco” and every State Department error will be blamed on him. Yet he needs just that to distance himself from MAGA. In a fair race, he could do well in 2028. Dunno where his funds are coming from, yet he’ll have a couple cases to bring before SCOTUS regarding this election.
From what I understand, Trump kind of took the complaints to heart that his cabinet in Trump 1.0 had too much coming and going. So he hasn’t fired anyone yet, but is waiting for the end of his first year. So if Marco is gone, it’ll be in a couple months. I understand Hegseth will be another goner, maybe Noem too. Perhaps someone should start a thread on cabinet level firings before mid-February or beginning of March.
Might as well just bring in a whole new bunch for the second season. I’m sure there are plenty more Fox or Newsmax hosts who would do. It’s not like they need qualifications.
