Today on The President’s Brain Is Missing; Trump forgets he’s supposed to be a Republican and spends his photo op with Zohran Mamdani, which Fox News was billing as a “SHOWDOWN WITH SOCIALISM”, praising him and saying what a great mayor he’ll be and telling Fox that Zohran is justified in calling him a despot and a fascist.
Man, that fascist quote above, we’re it not for the subject matter, would be funny!
So where the hell has this Trump been the last 70 years? He almost sounds like an actual human being. Does he need to be checked for bipolar disorder now?
He’s up to something.

My guess is it’s a combination of three things;

He campaigned against Zohran and Zohran won, so he’s trying to save face by pretending he never called him all those names

Zohran took advantage of his constant need for praise and buttered him up before the cameras started rolling

He is senile

Supreme Court, For Now, Keeps in Place Texas Republican-Friendly Congressional Map
State officials have asked the justices to allow it to use a newly redrawn map for the 2026 midterms, part of a nationwide redistricting push by President Trump.
The Supreme Court on Friday evening temporarily allowed Texas to use its newly redrawn, Republican-friendly congressional voting map for the 2026 midterm elections.

In the 160-page ruling, the judges blocked the use of the new map while litigation continues over its legality. In the meantime, they ordered the state to use a map enacted by the Texas Legislature in 2021 for the November 2026 elections.

I teach my students something called The Rule of Three for persuasive speeches. Little did I know that we now have a different Rule of Three, one for how to treat an adult who has the temperament of a three-year old toddler.
And here’s some fun news coming from the dustup between said toddler and Perjury Traitor Green*.
*I really thought I coined that epithet. Evidently it was too obvious. I’ve also seen Perjury Traitor Queen as another name for her.
Actually, I found it interesting that he was sitting down in the clip I saw. That’s not characteristic of him, since it allowed Mamdani to dominate the image physically.
I wouldn’t go so far as to say it’s yet another sign of physical decay, but if it continues … who knows?
Wow. They met in the Oval and “bonded”. The new cocktail of drugs must be helping.
I, too, have noticed he sits down a lot. Even when that guy fainted, he glanced over and stood up just to show that it’s a thing he can do. I think he still had some fingers on the desk.
I don’t think he can stand up straight, either to defeat gravity or not be leaning over precariously. Generally, people who faint fall backwards, yet I’d like to see his fat belly’s center of gravity plant his face in the ground.
That’s been a pretty common thing since he returned to office. He sits behind the desk looking haggard while everyone else stands around him. I doubt he has the energy to stay vertical for very long these days.

Don’t be upset about it. If the blue wave (I expect more of a tsunami) happens next year, with this gerrymandered map, the D’s should get more Texas House seats than they had before. They based the new map on the 2024 results where Trump got a bunch of Latino votes. But the 2025 votes show that those aren’t permanent R voters. Most of them were probably anti-Harris votes, rather than anti-D votes.
There’s a historic pattern of Latinos voting Republican for socially conservative reasons, and the Republicans then going out of their way to alienate them with massive displays of bigotry. Happened with Bush II, and it appears to be happening with Trump as well.
Well, if Trump was visited by three ghosts last night who reminded him of his humanity, then I say more power to him.
Somehow, I don’t expect him to be contributing to charities or adopting orphans tomorrow.
I just checked Fox News to see what they had to say about the Mamdani visit and they’ve had time to get their spin on it. Which is that “the left” is melting down because Trump was nice to him. That’s quite the take. Apparently, “the left” wanted Trump to be his usual self so that they could scream about what an asshole he is. Well, he showed them! Of course, Republicans had totally expected Trump to be gracious and accommodating. Riiiight.
I must have missed the change (understandable, since one of my life goals at present is to avoid his image and voice as much as possible). But the clip I saw, courtesy of the Elder Ottlet, had all the trappings of a photo op; and I still think it odd that he should yield the focus like he did.
You do recall in A Christmas Carol, Scrooge was shown scenes from his actual life in which he displayed humanity. The felon has never evidence any humanity.
Mamdani is not a ‘literal communist’. He’s not even a socialist the way @SenRickScott and the MAGA party mis-use the word. Mamdani is a democratic socialist. Like in Norway & Sweden & other Scandinavian countries… which are consistently noted as having the happiest citizens.
You know that, and I know that. But, you likely also know that “socialist!!” has been an extremely effective scare-tactic label used by conservatives for decades; their audience doesn’t understand (nor care to understand) the difference between “socialist,” “communist,” and “democratic socialist.”
Yeah, that’s a rather sad stretch on Fox’s part. Their expectation would have been ‘Trump demolishes Commie with cutting remarks,’ NOT ‘Trump is not just gracious but overtly warm and friendly.’
As for Why: this visit was billed as being off-camera, and I’m guessing that the beginning of it was private. And that during those minutes, Mamdani offered Donald a substantial gift. (Likely not an object but some lucrative construction opportunity in NYC.) This put Donald in a good mood.
Plus, as Smapti said, Donald knows that Mamdani was a big winner in the election—and Donald loves to be associated with winners.
Taking these two factors into consideration (and not forgetting that Mamdani is smart, and so would have signaled his willingness to be deferential on-camera), I think Donald decided “why not go full Kim-Jong Un? It will confuse people–always fun!”
Thus a bromance was born.
