Exactly. This is not news. Trump’s Epstein connection has been known for years. It has been on the news. We have already seen the clip of Trump praising Epstein while noting his particular taste for young women. We have already seen Trump saying yes in rapid succession to releasing JFK files, UFO files etc. but you can hear the record scratch noise when he is asked about the Epstein files. We already know Epstein himself thought Trump was a creep! And aside from Epstein we have plenty of testimony around Trump’s pageants, where he would walk around backstage looking at naked teenagers because he could. We have seen Trump declaring that he grabs women by the pussy. We have seen him lose lawsuits for doing just that.
So now you’ve gone ahead and called Trump a pedophile and he hasn’t crumbled into dust, nor will he. So now what? What else is left after that? How do you continue the fight after your dropped your “nuke” and your opponent shrugged it off?
It’s one of those things that doesn’t make sense on any level. Elmo is trying to make it look like he’s got some “insider information” on this, that us plebeians don’t have. Okay, fine, but then, how did he get it? Did Trump authorize Elmo to look at the files? “Hey, Elmo, check out what I did to this kid! Ain’t that cool?” Seems unlikely.
Or did someone else leak it to Elmo? Well, then, why not leak it to everybody? You don’t take down Trump with backroom rumors, we’ve seen him shrug off too much to ever think that will work. We’re into “dead girl or live boy” territory, here.

He’s not trying to make it look like he’s got insider information. He probably thinks he has found insider information, in a tweet or a video or someplace else on the world wide web that somehow nobody else has paid attention to.
As for “will it hurt Trump,” he probably just assumes that other people couldn’t get to him, but he, with the Power of Elon, can.

What’s remarkable is how vicious this is getting between Trump and Elon, and we’ll see what effect this has on MAGA. Elon seemed to be embraced so fully by that cult for a while. Not to mention, I think Elon was a bridge between Trump and a lot of the “techbro” crowd, including the crypto frat guys.
AIUI, we’ve known for a long time that Trump had a relationship with Epstein, flew on the plane, etc. What we don’t know is what additional information regarding Trump may or may not be in those files. Things like credible accusations, circumstantial evidence of wrongdoing, etc.
It’s also not impossible that through his time at DOGE, Elon got access to the files somehow, whether through an acquaintance or other means.
I’m not saying any of this is the case, I’m saying we can hope that it’s the case.

I did a trip on a civilian sailing ship. I didn’t cross the equator while on board, but the ship does hold a version of the ceremony when they do. It’s toned way down from some of the excesses I’ve heard about from years gone by.
