After the absurdist list of nominees for cabinet, Pence has apparently been handed control of the transition process. I believe the establishment/swamp dwellers are going to do everything they can to box Trump in as a figurehead, with the real decisions made by others. I think Pence will remain after Trump resigns. Not good, but at least… something something.
I think we all knew, those of us who supported Clinton, that Trump was just saying what his supporters wanted to hear. He doesn’t have any depth of personailty, other than to con people and feed his ego.
He will most likely back down on all the ‘promises’ he made that caused people to vote for him. They got conned. That’s the bottom line.
For example, jobs. He cannot return manufacturing to the Northeast because it is not economically feasible. The future is technology, not manufacturing. He never explained how he would return jobs to areas that have lost them, but the morons believed him anyway.

I think it’s very possible Trump will not make it through the 4 year term. He is just not up to the job. Or he may have a heart attack. If he makes it through 4 years, they will be a disaster for him and he will not be relected. Pence is not much better, but he is a great deal smarter and took on the VP job with the hopes of going further. Don’t think he will thoough. He’s just too slimy.

Every promise he makes that he walks back must be pointed out immediately. Loudly. And with praise if it benefits them. But the praise should be loud. His filling the swamp with swamp water needs to become a talking point immediately too.
If Democrats want to prevent this from being a disaster they need to praise him so he does what they want and do it loudly so his supporters know they were conned.
Sadly, that’s one of the few things that is not within the power of lawmakers. Ryan should know that. It’s quite literally the job of the Executive branch to enforce existing laws. And the laws are already in place if you choose to read them that way.
Yeah, the prediction that Pence is going to quit is pretty silly. Trump quitting at least takes into account that Trump is famously undisciplined and gets bored easily and doesn’t give a shit about anything except feeding his ego.
Pence is a heartbeat away from the Presidency. If somehow Trump makes it through four years without imploding, Pence is perfectly positioned to take up Trump’s baton and play Maduro to Trump’s Chavez.
Plus, right now, he’s playing Cheney to Trump’s Bush. He’s leading the transition team. That is, picking the long list of conservative lobbyists and cronies for Trump to rubber stamp, because Trump doesn’t know any of these people and wouldn’t care even if he did. Just as promised, Pence can run policy and appointments and making decisions, and Trump can get on with making America great again.
