The Trump Impeachment Inquiry

As I listen to the opening of the inquiry, I am reminded of this quote*

*Imagined

Bill Taylor in Vietnam.

Dinesh D’Souza and Steve Doocy are both college educated.

Watching Kent so far, all I can think is Stitch Fix Fail

Bill is testifying at his first first Impeachment Hearing, so he called his Stitch Fix stylist to find the perfect outfit. Too bad the stylist was a Republican operative.

Will someone please explain to Nunes that the military aid that was being held up was to be used against Russia, so its all the same thing? :smack:

He knows. Truth is not what he’s aiming for.

Taylor’s opening statement included a bombshell development: On July 26th, a day after the phone call, Taylor’s staffer overheard Trump ask Sondland how the “investigations” were going. When the call was over, the staffer asked Sondland what Trump thinks about Ukraine. Sondland responded that Trump cares more about the Bidens and their being investigated.

Sondland will be testifying publicly, right? If he confirms this, then that’s a really big thing that’s actually new. If Sondland isn’t testifying, then they need to try and get this staffer to testify.

I just checked, and Sondland testifies next week on the 20th.

He makes for a very credible witness, and I for one, hope he begins a career of audiobook narration after this. He’s got a great voice.

I could see this, and I could see them deliberately trying to disrupt proceedings outright by interrupting, speaking out of turn, basically making it impossible for Schiff to do his job. I wouldn’t have thought this a few months ago, but the stunt they pulled by barging into the SCIF.

On a side note, did anyone else hear that none other than AG Bill Barr was apparently colluding with Giuliani on this Ukrainian ‘drug deal,’ as Bolton put it? I mean, Holy Mary Mother of Christ! A sitting AG basically undercutting the Department of State and serving as a de facto foreign policy side channel in an attempt to have another country’s AG initiate criminal proceedings against a political opponent.

Post-Nixonian. Nixonian on steroids.

Are the Republicans trying to bolster their image by making Nixon look good in comparison?

This is where you lose me. How did he cheat his way into the white house?

The Ukraine quid pro quo seems pretty damning. Claims that he cheated in 2016 seem unsubstantiated.

Did you read the Mueller Report?

Honestly “cheating” is probably the nicest word to use when describing what the Trump campaign demonstratively did and tried to do in order to win the election.

One notes that we only ever got a Russia report and never a Saudi Arabia report.

The whole Alfa Bank / Trump Tower server communication thing seems to have been tied to Eric Prince and Eric Prince, Steve Bannon, and George Nader were meeting with Alfa and the Saudis in the Seychelles during the interval where their cellphones had all their records deleted.

And here goes Nunes again. Isn’t he supposed to be asking questions at this point, not holding forth?

There is a lot of money on the gun control side too. More from the NRA but its not orders of magnitude difference. It might reflect how much more gun rights folks care about guns than gun control folks care about guns.

Sure, because literacy tests worked so well. Or did you mean only require white voters to have a college degree?

Why not just say whoever wins in California wins the presidency.

I understand that convicted felon Dinesh D’Souza has a degree from an Ivy League university…

Despite what you may have heard, the Mueller Report detailed a ton of collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia.

The NRA and money have some problems.
