So I’m sitting here with the t.v. on in the background and some reality show is on with Nicole Richie and Paris Hilton going to peoples’ homes and doing who knows what. So anyway, Paris doesn’t feel like coming to work so she hires an imposter. Unfortunately, it wasn’t really Paris’ day to show up and Nicole arrives. Needless to say, she knows the imposter isn’t really Paris and asks to speak to her alone. Nicole informs the imposter that she’s gonna tell the elderly couple that she isn’t really Paris. The imposter pleads with Nicole not to expose her because the old couple would be ‘crushed’. Nicole’s response: “I don’t really know them, so I don’t care!” Then, after further pleading from the imposter in which she reveals that she will get all of Paris’ stand-in gigs if she does a good job with the old couple, Nicole agrees not to bust the imposter provided the imposter does anything and everything she says. This turns out to be turning the imposter into a virtual slave…“Get me this”, “Bring me that”, “Make me toast…now feed it to me”, etc.
So I’m wondering, does anyone know if this scurrilous airhead really wrote The Truth About Diamonds? It’s gotten fairly good reviews and I haven’t been able to find any information online to indicate she had a ghost writer. One wonders, if she has enough writerly talent to write this book and have it be well received in spite of her image, why she isn’t doing more with it. I would think it would take more than a passing interest in writing to produce a book this well received, yet I never hear a writerly word about (or from) her.
Anybody know the score?
