The ultimate SDMB playlist

Whether or not you own a mp3 player, what list of songs would you say represents the best of the Straight Dope Message Board?

Let’s see if we can keep it to thirty songs, tops.

Well, first of all, you’ve gotta go with Strauss’ “Thus Spake Zarathustra” (if you know what I’m talking about and I spelled it wrong, flog away at me with a mackerel).

Then you need some “I Ran” by Flock of Seagulls and “Everybody Wants to Rule the World” by Tears for Fears.
Unless you’ve got the soundtrack to “Debbie Does Dallas”. That would sum it up much much much much more succintly.

How about “most apropos”?

For the recently banned: Queen’s Another One Bites The Dust and Tom Petty’s Don’t Come Around Here No More.

Rio by Duran Duran

So far (tentative ordering):

Anybody else? What about songs that remind you of Cecil? Ed? The mods? The forums? Famous posters?

“Angry Young Man” – Billy Joel

There’s a third one, too, but I can’t think of the name.

Well, aha’s not around these days as far as I can tell, but still let’s toss in “Western Union” by the Five Americans, probably the only song with any claim to being a pop hit with a Doper performing.

Let’s see…something Dopery…

um…

…um…

I’m working here…
I’d like to add “Automobile” by Eazy E (cause it was the song playing when I lost my virginity and I’m still not sure how I managed to not laugh during it. Dad, don’t read that last sentence.) I encourage you to look up the lyrics.

Also, we need “My Sharona” and something Michael…I’ll go with “Billie Jean”.
Please stop me.
