Each member must be or have been a member of a super team, and no more than one member from any team.
Incarnations of a team count as one team. For instance, The Justice Leage of America and Justice League International are one team (however The Justice Society is different).
If a character has been a member of more than one group, you can use whichever group to enter them in. For instance, if you want The Beast and another X-Man, you can enter him as an Avenger.
1)Dr. Strange - Defenders. He ain’t called the Sorcerer Supreme for nothing.
2)Green Lantern/Kyle Rayner - JLA. He’s the one I’m most familiar with, and I like him as a character. New to the ring so he isn’t as unstoppable as some of the others.
3)Rogue - X-Men. Requisite tank. Flight, strength, and speed with her power absorbing abilities as an X-Factor.
4)Wolverine - Avengers. He’s the best at what he does. He’s also the group hardass/sneak. There’s a reason that he’s on practically every team in the marvel universe
5)Havok - X Factor. I may be bending the rules a bit here and I am willing to accept a judges ruling. I’ll say that at the time he was in charge that X Factor was a government run agency and not associated with the X-Men. He’d be the leader and master blaster.
6)Mach 3 - Thunderbolts. Think Iron Man with a more interesting character.
7)Speedball - New Warriors. Interesting powers, comic relief, and youthful enthusiasm. Rounds out the team.
Nu-unh. Bring in John Stewart as a Darkstar. Then you can have Guy from the JLI. Then again, there’s always G’nort, who belonged to a group of knockoff GLs originally, with no affiliations with the Corps…
Hmm…that’s a twist I never thought of. John wasn’t a GL when he was a Darkstar (obviously)… Odin’s rules don’t disallow that, but I can’t decide if mine do…
Then again, Rond’s affiliation with the Legion after he got the ring is iffy, too…
OK, that makes the list fit the original concept better than either of the ladies do.
1 Green Lantern - Alan Scott (JSA)
2 Green Lantern - Hal Jordan (GLC)
3 Green Lantern - John Stewart (Darkstars)
4 Green Lantern - Kyle Rayner (Titans)
5 Green Lantern - Guy Gardner (JLI)
6 Green Lantern - Jose Hernandes (JAA)
7 Green Lantern - Rond Vidar (LSH)
Woot!
Also…all-speedster team:
1 Flash - Jay Garrick (JSA)
2 Flash - Wally West (JLA)
3 Kid Flash/Impulse - Bart Allen (Young Justice)
4 Jesse Quick (Titans)
5 Quicksilver (Avengers)
6 Northstar (Alpha Flight)
7 XS (Legion of Superheroes)
She-Hulk (Fantastic Four): Super strenght, ability to break the fourth wall, and more estrogen.
Vision (Avengers): Flight, density control, super strength, ranged attacks and a personal favorite.
Mimic (Brotherhood): Mimicry of surrounding people’s skills, abilities, and powers to about 80% effectiveness. Another personal favorite.
Madrox (X-Factor): Ability to duplicate and reabsorb himself (with all new experiences and skills) at will. A third personal favorite.
How’s that for a team? I honestly don’t know and basically threw together a bunch of people with somewhat unique powers that I liked.
I’m particularly interested in the opinions of **Harborwolf ** and Case Sensitive and **Askia **(if they show up) as they’re my favorite comic related Dopers.
1 Magneto (Brotherhood of Mutants)
2 Polaris (X-Factor)
3 Dr Polaris (Secret Society of Supervillains)
4 Cosmic Boy (Legion of Substitute Heroes II)
5 Magnetic Kid (Legion of Superheroes)
6 Magno Lad (Legion of Supervillains)
7 Repulse (Workforce)
It’s a good team. You’re lacking a bit in muscle. IIRC, Vision is actually not as strong as Spider Man. Mimic is a great choice though, especially with Madrox (Do I remember that from the X-Men/JLA thread?). Magneto and Dr. Strange should pack enough raw power to handle most everything.
I give it a 9.5 out of 10. I had to take some off for such blatant ass kissery.
Lacking in muscle? Isn’t She-Hulk the equal to Hulk (Level 100) at peak levels but generally around Level 40? If I remember correctly, Spidey’s only around Level 10.
And, yeah, the Mimic/Madrox teaming is an old tactic of mine that I dreamed up in middle school and always trot out in these kinds of discussions, including that trainwreck of a thread. Incidentally, that’s also the thread where I first noticed you and is the genesis of this “ass-kissing”.
As for Magneto and Strange, I’m actually a little hesitant to include the former in my roster simply because I hate nigh-invincibility and the two of them together approaches that. I can’t really think of a suitable replacement for Strange since he’s such a jack of all trades, though. His set of powers is just so usefully varied.
Mimic - Excalibur: Comes with a good power set from the start and can take more power as needed.
Sebastian Shaw - Hellfire Club: Absorbs kinetic energy and turns it into physical strength
Bishop - X-Men: Absorbs energy and rechannels energy blasts
Synch - Generation X: Can copy the powers of any mutant around him, possibly at full strength
Gideon - X-Ternals or something like that. He was a member of some Liefield group of eternal villains: He can copy the powers and skills (possibly even mechanical) of anyone and everyone around him.
Rogue - Brotherhood: Super strength, flight, invulnerability, and can steal powers by touch.
Absorbing Man - They who wield power: Can absorb powers of people and the properties of inanimate objects.
On preview: Aesiron, She-Hulk is a little less powerful than the Hulk. I think she’s around Colossus level. I’m not saying that she isn’t strong enough. There just isn’t a good second banana. Most groups have the main tank and a second that isn’t as powerful but is close. In the new Avengers, you have Iron Man as the main muscle with Spider Man and Luke Cage as your back up. Original Avengers had Thor as the main and Iron Man in second.
That thread wasn’t too much of a train wreck. You just had one or two people refusing to give an inch to make anything work.
Ah. I see what you mean and I was actually thinking of trying to make the team a bit more well-rounded by including characters that could feasibly substitute for an injured primary player but, in the end, decided to go with the widest base of powers and abilities that I could with the heavy-hitters and used the Madrox/Mimic team as the backup instead.
Silver Surfer (Defenders): Christ on a surfboard. Can pretty much do anything so you really don’t need much of a team after him but…
Mr. Immortal (Great Lakes Avengers): Can’t die…and, er…
Gorrilla Grodd (Legion of Supervillians): My favourite DC villian. He’s a massive gorilla…with a brain Just love him.
Ghost Rider (The Champions): Looks cool and if the dark, tortured anti-hero thing ever comes back in comics then he’ll help sales.
Medusa (Fantastic Four): I always liked it when she was naked and just used her hair to cover herself.
Speedball (New Warriors): Fun character who’ll add a Kirbyesque dimension to it.
Superboy (Legion of Superheroes): PC Superboy. Can carry planets on chains. For fun, he and the Surfer can see who can find new and interesting ways to kill Mr. Immortal.
