The US Economy over the next decade (Map)

Forbes has put together this map of the US over the next decade. Is the US “one nation,” or seven nations and three city-states?

The Northeast loses government as a key industry? That seems unlikely.

Interesting map. But the GDP of the Los Angeles area alone is close to the GDP of the entire rest of the West Coast? I have absolutely no factual basis, but I call shenanigans. Someone feel free to find a cite to prove me wrong, of course.

I’m amused that both the Left Coast and the Great Lakes have the highest concentration of engineers.

Why is San Diego in the Inland West?
