I may be mistaken, but I suspect that there’s one version of Beethoven’s Ode And die Freude (from the ninth symphony) that has become popular and recognizable. At least to me; when I think of that song I hear a very powerful chorus belting out “Freude, schöner Götterfunken, …”
It seems to me it’s been in any number of movies as an attempt at dramatic or comedic effect.
Does anybody have a clue what I’m getting at? If so, whose performance is it that’s been used this way?
