Yet another country is doing their version of* The Voice*. I think it all started in the Netherlands? It’s called The Voice of Holland there.
The UK version has Tom Jones, Danny O’Donoghue, Jessie J, and Reggie Yates judging/mentoring. Tom Jones is the only one I have ever heard of. Looks like the format is basically the same.
I watched the debut. I’m not sure if I’ll follow all eleven weeks. I do want to see at least one episode with Tom Jones mentoring for the battle rounds. Maybe he’ll show them how to do that hip swivel that makes female fans throw their knickers on stage.

Who’s Reggie Yates? I watched the first episode last night and the fourth judge was Will.i.am. Was Toni the kabuki-faced redhead channelling Liza Minnelli at the end? Definitely the best voice so far, but her theatrics made me laugh.
I was just copying/pasting the judges names from an article. I didn’t know who any of them were except Tom. Reggie must be the backstage host.
I’ve been listening to Jessie J. today on youtube. I like her a lot. A new artist for my player. Toni was really good. She sang the Jessie J song Mama Knows Best.
This is one of the many programs that milk the whole concept another time, as long as you want.
What a shame that tv company’s these days don’t have any original idea’s anymore and over and over again, air the same formats but just another year further with other people.

Well, it is different versions of the show in various countries. The people in one country typically never see it in another. youtube lets us Americans see some of the Brit singing.

The Voice of Ireland is (IMO) awful. The judges are Sharon Corr, Kian someone who was in Westlife, Bressie (don’t look at me, I haven’t a clue who he is) and someone else who’s apparently a ‘famous’ singer.
I don’t really like listening to music much, so I’m not that pushed about the show, but I thought the acts I saw were dreadful
Out of curiosity, how many singers does each “celebrity” get on his team in Ireland and the Netherlands? I noticed that the British version has teams of 10 to start with while the U.S. version has teams of 12.
