Less than 2 and a half hours to go. When last we left the gang the big sceret about the barn containing the Greenes’ undead friends & family had been revealed to all, said zombies were promply (re)killed by Rick & co, followed by little zombie Sophia stambling out of the barn to be shot by Rick. See the first 3 minutes here.
Such a shame it’s opposite Downton Abbey. Though a mashup of the two would be one helluva TV show.
Holy crap–I forgot this was coming back tonight.
I’m hoping they get some forward momentum going–both figuratively and physically. Their search for Sophia allowed them to do some character development, but the plot stagnated. And it’s past time for a change of setting so I hope they move on from the farm soon.
Isn’t Pride and Prejudice and Zombies being made into a movie?
Finally!
This episode should have been called “Aftermath.”
Once again, “Zombieland’s” “double tap” is excellent advice!
And, “Always wear a seatbelt.”
How many of us sat through the stink pile of Kevin Smith’s “Comic Men” just to see the previews for next week’s Walking Dead?
Not me - I got “Supernatural” on Space Channel!
Me, and the seven friends that were over for our viewing party
Rick was a magnificent bastard in that last scene.
I loved the overhead shot after the funeral, when all of the group walked off in separate directions.
Daryl, poor thing, seems to be heading in Merle’s direction rather than not.
Overall, a fitting beginning to the second half of Season Two, IMO.
I am set to read the nitpickers’ reactions.
So, what exactly went on with Rick and the two new guys in the bar? Did the one guy actually try to pull a gun on Rick? Why did Rick get suspicious of the two guys? I feel like I missed something in this scene.
My husband wanted the TV just as Lori was crashing her car. No problem giving it up.
If they keep doing lame shit like that, I’m gonna stop watching. I’m curious about what’s wrong with the blonde girl though.
Who were the four people they buried? Sophia and who else? Lori said something like “we bury the ones we loved”, but I don’t remember three others in their group being in the barn.
And why didn’t they bury the others? Someone loved them too. Assholes.
ETA nitpick about Dale’s ESP regarding how Otis died. Ridiculous.
They were just…off. They way they talked acted, etc. Alarm bells were ringing. Actually, it was fat man that was kind of off, especially when he just walked over and started pissing in the corner. And the way he asked if there were any women at the farm, it just started adding up quickly that they didn’t want these guys anywhere near their people.
I’m guessing blonde girl is in a kind of catatonia. Brain broken. BSOD.
I don’t remember names/relations, but the others that were buried were family members of people living at the farm. The rest were just random walkers Otis corraled. Someone, somewhere, may have loved them, but nobody at the farm did.
Still, I think it would have been wiser to bury them instead of burning them. Burning sends up a visible smoke plume, and maybe sends yummy smells downwind, to other walkers in the area.
Rick was suspicious because they kept prodding about where his group was living. After Rick made it clear with a comment (“I hear Nebraska’s nice” or something to that effect) the guy behind the bar gave a “Go!” look at his companion then went for the gun he had placed on the bar.
The three other people were from Hirsch & Maggie’s family. They were trying to be respectful to their dead too. And yeah, the other walkers were somebody’s loved ones, but I can see why they didn’t bury them. Have you ever tried digging a six x four foot long trench that’s six feet deep? Much less four of them? Not something you want to do sixteen times in a single day.
Lori will come out of the car crash relatively unscathed, but will lose the baby. How convenient! (Well, given the rate that time elapses on this show, it’s probably for the best - she’d be carrying that baby for twenty years worth of episodes!)
What was with the arm that fell off the truck? They way the camera zoomed in on it made me think that it was somehow important. But then it was simply forgotten about.
As for the two guys that Rick smoked, I don’t blame them. They had trouble written all over them. And not just because one of them was being played by Rene Boncoeur from “TrueBlood.” Maybe I’m reading too much into it, but when Rick told them his name, “Rene” gave him a weird look, as if he knew that name…
The blonde has zombie disease - same symptoms described in the premiere (or maybe second episode). Scratched by her mom.
Car crash = miscarriage, I think. Of course, WTF was she doing driving into town anyway? Rick and Glen were going to bring Herschel back as soon as they could. This is a woman who is not a net asset to the group.
I think Daryl is going to be OK - he’s just a little shocky, and a bit pissed because he spent all that time (and nearly got killed) looking for Sophie. Even then, he was the first one who went to comfort Carol (is that Sophie’s mom’s name?).
Thought about that also, as they’re always worried about capping off rounds to attract attention. Begs the question what else may attract them?
On a more practical note, how long is the fuel going to hold out? What are they using at that farm, a big propane tank? Sooner or later, they’ll need the wood.
Okay. I didn’t see anyone from the farm identifying their dead, but maybe it just wasn’t obvious.
Raymond Michael James (not sure of the order of his names) (Rene) was one of the two leads on Terriers. Too bad he didn’t last.
Lori also doesn’t even know where she’s going. She’s never even set foot in the town. Which is why she was looking at a map instead of the road and drove into a zombie. :smack:
Yeah, that was downright bizarre. At first I though he was pouring his drink out. It did seem like the thin on (Rene from True Blood?) had it together and was doing a much better job with the con than his fat friend. He couldn’t pulled it off if he was alone.
