The Walking Dead; 3.15 "This Sorrowful Life" (open spoilers)

This show really isn’t afraid to use every obvious cliché they can find.

I’m a post-apocalyptic junkie; I’ll read and watch just about any old thing on the subject. One of these days, they’re going to make a GOOD post-apocalyptic tv show*, and my fondest wish will become a reality, instead of setting for shows like “The Walking Dead” (I actually gave up on “Revolution,” it was so bad).

*I watched the British show “Survivors” on Netflix, and it was wonderful, but only two seasons long and it’s done now.

you’re right, and look how that turned out - Lori got carved out, Ed is dead(?) and i don’t even remember who the Moraleses were. Rick and Lori had a long arc, but they started the show as a married couple and theirs is a story of conflict rather than impromptu sex. in TV land, the cliche is marriage kills sexual tension and it will not last. so this is either the last season or something will happen to them.

Thanks for the recommendation. I just watched the first episode, and it seems pretty realistic.

I really enjoyed that series - the character of Tom Price is one of the most fascinating characters I’ve ever seen on television.

and he had a bullet wound to the chest

I can’t see Daryl giving the Gov a chance to say much, if they get close to each other. I can see the Gov being a monologuer, but not so much Daryl bothering to listen to him.

There was another Brit show from maybe 30 years ago where the kill-off was caused by the accidental release of plague.

You mean Survivors?

Yes. The 2008 version is available via Netflix. That’s the one Cat Whisperer recommended. The earlier version is, AFAIK, only available on DVD.

Seeking opinions:

After Daryl tells Rick he’s going after Merle and says, “You need to be ready” does he then say “You’re family, too” or “Your family, too.”?

Subtitles say “your” but there’s arguments on the Internet for the other interpretation.

How The Walking Dead is the same plot as Toy Story.

And while some people will say it’s because only parts that suit the comparison are used, I have to say, I laughed at how eerily accurate the comparisons are. “You’ve got a date with justice… One-eyed Bart!” :stuck_out_tongue:
