How about when she thinks the Wolf has gone soft, only to have Carol shoot him. That was very reminiscent of Ygritte’s death in Game of Thrones, right down to the camera focus on Carol after.
Still, her turn was more believable than Father Gabriel.

A running theme in the episode, though, was the (remaining) Alexandrians and the weaker “main group” players, like Father Gabriel and Eugene, realizing that this is life now and they need to suck it up and step up to help the team.
Oh, Egan is coming.
I was going for “head” -
I’ll chew on that.
This. There are MANY more characters from the first two seasons who are dead than alive. Only Maggie is left from the farm. Only Sasha is left from Tyreese’s group. Only Michonne is left from Woodbury.
These are the adventures of Rick, sole survivor of the zombie apocalypse. During his 5 year run - seeking out others and new communiities - culling them until only 1 member remained - beaten, broken and otherwise helpless - they joined his rag tag crew until they too, were killed.
Unless you happened to be named Glenn.
These are the adventures of Glenn - the luckiest man alive in a dead world - its only once he’s the true sole survivor that we learn he carries the cure - if only he realized ahead of time he just needed to bite people - but his parents were too harsh when he was a child, preventing him from ever knowing his true density.
I have this vague memory that Kirkman once said that he might kill Rick off before the show ends. But I may not be correct about that…
Density? Destiny?
Ever since that fateful day in 1955 - I’ve always substituted the two, even when I get back to the future.
I think Daryl has a certain degree of plot armor too; he’s original to the TV series and very popular with regards to merchandising.
It is your density…
I was afraid I didn’t get some intricate pun, my apologies.
That is a topic of some debate at Castle Wang-Ka. If Daryl of all people has plot armor, it endangers the idea that anyone can die. Plus, Norman Reedus apparently has a new series coming out; will he have time for both? And on top of that there’s what Andrew Lincoln said about the script for the season finale, that it made him sick and angry.
Lastly, Negan’s defining moment in the comics is when he beats a major character’s head in with a baseball bat, SIMPLY TO PROVE A POINT and terrorize our heroes into understanding what a ruthless evil bastard he is. If they choose to replicate that moment on the TV show, do not expect the victim to be one of the nameless Alexandrians.
Most of those were several seasons ago. As the show has gained popularity, it has lost its teeth. I would be utterly shocked if Rick, Darryl, or Carol died unless the show gains an end date.
Oh, hell. And the guy still does not wash his hair. :dubious:
Rick, Daryl and Carol are untouchable.
Looking at Rick now all I can think is how much he needs a shower and some clean clothes.
Please box spoilers for future events in the comics. (I added the spoiler box in this quote.)
EDIT: Note that this is not a big deal, as EW actually printed that panel in this week’s issue.
WOW!
Kudos to the writers, the director, the FX guys, the makeup artists, and the actors. This was Fear the Wild Bunch on steroids. I needed a cigarette and a nap after it was over.
Based on the end of the last episode, I was ready to write off Abe Ford or Sasha and I thought Daryl was going to end up in Negan’s clutches. KABLOOIE! WTH? Didn’t see that coming.
I didn’t think Sam would make it. A meat suit doesn’t save someone showing outward signs of PTSD and repeatedly saying, “Mom” in a herd of walkers. My wife called Jesse’s demise. If they’re holding hands and the kid goes down, she’s not letting go of her son. Make it or break it together.
Gabriel finally did “something” to redeem himself in the eyes of Rick. Must have been accomplished off screen???
The Wolf was a psychopath. They lie for a living. It’s what drives them to get out of bed in the morning. Carol was right, Morgan was wrong. I guess the Cheesemaker didn’t get around to covering the chapter on Psychopathy. At least Alexandria got their doctor back.
Maggie’s trapped? Glenn to the rescue? Glenn’s trapped? Is this the end of Glenn? Again? Wait-a-minute, what’s that rat-a-tat-tat sound?
WOW!
I’ve put in a spoiler, just in case.
Except the final thing the wolf did before getting his ass eaten was to save the nurse, for no reason as he was already shot.
even after thinking it over a bit this was still a good episode, so regression to the mean and all that next week should suck balls. (I really wish they could keep up this level of writing throughout)
