The Walking Dead; 7.01 "The Day Will Come When You Won't Be" (open spoilers)

Eh, the only part the bothered me was Glenn’s eyeball popping out. That was have been especially unpleasant to watch for Carl.

I have a feeling it may not yet be over. Stupid show.

The problem with the show going forward is that Negan is a tedious, one-note character. The fans will be happy when he finally dies, but I think I’ll continue not watching the show because the writing continues to be terrible.

Very intense.

I think I stopped breathing for a minute.

One heck of an opening episode. It will be interesting to see how Rick’s group plots to escape Negan’s control.

Nah. They were sticking true to the source material.

fhaaaaack…

Oh, this is messed up. Poor Rick.

phewwwwww

Yep, terrible writing. Which brings up the question of why anyone would put up with Negan’s crap. I bet one bullet in the head and the rest of the guys with him would go, “Yeah, this is better.”

So can we expect your commentary all season long?

So apparently Talking Dead is being broadcast from an actual cemetery tonight.

Nope. Which I know is what you wanted to hear.

Doesn’t mean I’m wrong. The writing’s always been terrible.

And yet you’re still watching it!

One TV. Wife wanted to watch this in real time instead of Westworld or football. If I’m watching, I might as well comment.

Is Darryl going to become a despised character? I’m sure Maggie won’t be hanging out with him.

What if Norman Reedus wants to leave the show, but they know he’s a beloved character and the viewers would riot unless they begin to write him as changing into an unlikable guy.

That bulging eye though…yucck!!

Yeah, they fucked with us.
Assholes.

And also longer than the actual episode of TWD. :stuck_out_tongue: I admit I did feel a little sad watching the scene of the “family dinner” & Glenn holding his child.

I’ve seen a lot of television.

And with a lot of TV, comes a lot of shit writing. And this series certainly has its episodes of abject shit.

That said, I think this episode is one of its greatest, not just because two main characters ate it, but because it was the breaking of the main character. I honestly did not know if Rick was gonna chop Carl’s arm off. And that’s because of the brutality and unpredictability which preceded it. I was engrossed more than I ever have been in this show.

From here, will the writing slip? Most likely. But this was one of the better episodes as far as watershed moments. Perhaps the best of them.

The word “fuck” is verboten too; good thing TD has a 30 second delay.

I think that was the most intense episode to date. First time this show reduced me to a sobbing wreck.
