I gave the show five seasons. It just wasn’t any fun to watch anymore. I was exhausted by the unrelenting grimness of it all, and I knew things weren’t going to take a turn for the lighter with Negan just around the corner. The show kind of did me a favor by not ending that season on a big cliffhanger.
My wife and I are going to do a re-watch and I plan to stop around Negan or so. It’s not just the grimness, it just kind of stopped being gripping. The writers and producers adore Negan. He was a one or two season villain at best…
