Walking Dead ends tonight

Yes, it’s still on. Surprised? My wife and I have actually stuck with it, but it has been so boring the last few seasons, we are glad it is ending and don’t plan to watch any future spinoffs or continuations.

The fact that some characters have continuations/spin-offs announced has spoiled the fact that certain characters will not die in the finale. Then again, a couple actors had contracts that paid them whether they lived or died on the show so I knew quite awhile ago that certain characters would not die before the finale.

Anyway, it has been a heck of a slog and this season alone began 15 months ago. I’m not kidding.

Anyone still watching? If you are curious, there has been almost no exciting build up this season and there is very little thrill in watching tonight. It feels like any other boring post-Rick season and I wonder if they will do much other than just have a normal season finale.

My understanding is that two major spin-offs are planned, including:

Daryl <–featuring Daryl. Was going to have Carol, but actress withdrew. So many she can die tonight?

Negan <–Uh…I don’t care. I wish he died seasons ago. Anyway, he won’t die tonight.

Michonne and Rick <–I think these two are still supposed to have some kind of miniseries or something.

We are watching the end. But between Fear the Walking Dead, Tales of the Walking Dead and all the various spin offs, I’m not sure who told AMC that the world still needs this much zombie stuff.

I, too, will be watching tonight. At this point I enjoy the Talking dead episode better than the Walking Dead.

You’d think Walking Dead is in its peak of popularity the way they stick to it. They are planning spinoffs, etc.

But all that stuff must make money?

Anyway, I really think Rick’s death was the end of my interest. I’m sure they regret taking out Carl just before that. It’s clear they thought Andrew Lincoln would stay. Now that Michonne also left, we have a very sparse crew of people we have been with for a long time.

The show still has many many viewers and is very profitable for AMC.

Who said Rick is dead?? He was last seen lifted onto a mysterious helicopter, very much alive against all odds, and wisked away to parts unknown. I would bet good money he is going to show up in this last episode, which is basically why I’m watching. (I got lost and also lost interest a season or two ago, but I can’t NOT watch till the bitter end.). Andrew Lincoln was, or is, supposed to be in three Walking Dead movies, I don’t know if those are still on or not. He didn’t just quit, they had or have plans for him. And Michonne.

I will be pleased if Michonne shows up, though the minute I heard the actress was cast in that Black Panther movie, I knew she was outta there.

I might take a look at the spinoff with Daryl who is apparently traveling to France (which has something to do with the zombie plague). Never did care for any of the spinoffs, but I do LOVE Daryl. I have a Dixon addiction!

12 years? :scream: It started out so good, and went on too long, but I’ll miss it. And ‘TheTalking Dead’ right after.

Sorry, I meant when he left the show.

Yes. Love or hate him, Rick was holding the show together. (but as he didn’t die, I think we all had a feeling he was going to come back.)…nothing to do with anything, but did you know Andrew Lincoln is Ian Anderson’s (Jethro Tull) son-in-law?

Yeah, I’ve stuck with it, too, and am glad this is finally going to be over.

The movie idea fell through and there is going to be a TV mini-series with Rick and Michonne.

There will also be series with Daryl (set in France) and with Negan and Maggie.

I saw that Daryl is going to France. I have all the questions:

Why is he in France?
Where exactly is he in France?
How is he getting to France?

I mean, are any ships or planes flying cross ocean at this point? We’ve seen some military stuff, but I don’t get the impression we have a clue what is happening around the world at this point.

Episode had like four endings, but I guess that counted as an ending of sorts.

I’m hoping HBO’s LAST OF US is as good as the game so everyone is reminded that zombie-type stories don’t need to be boring and repetitive and empty of meaning and value.

In the end, it was all about “love”. That, and fighting zombies and murdering people.

That cut to Rick and Michonne was clearly thought of later, like they weren’t sure if they could get them. AMC was like, “Hey, make sure you advertise future shows!”

I can’t believe this show was still on. My wife and I will consider this a badge of TV-pride that we actually kept watching weekly to the bitter and massively anti-climactic end.

I made it two or three seasons after they reached Alexandrea which was two or three seasons too many. I think their “anyone can die” strategy required them to write an unwieldy number of characters.

Negan was the end for us. I hated that character. And I really like Jeffrey Dean Morgan as an actor. The show just kept getting dumber and more incoherent rtom that point forwards.

Pretty much the same for us, though we grudgingly stayed with it through the Negan episodes. We turned it off when Alpha was introduced and never looked back. I am interested in how it all ends, however. I suppose we’ll watch the last episode when it shows up on Netflix.

Good news. Nothing happened of significance for years, so you can just watch the final episode and get the gist.

Umm…Rick didn’t die. He was saved by Jaden and whisked away by a helicopter. She told them he was a B when he was really an A so that they wouldn’t do the zombie experiment on him.

Yes, I had misspoken, was corrected upthread and already acknowledged my error.

S’all good, man!
