The "Whats the deal with your name?" Thread

I run a QC Lab for a plastics manufacturer. Its about 110 degrees on the plant floor during the summer, but the Lab must maintain 70 degrees & 50% RH, so naturally the production guys are jealous of our “cooler” status, hence their name for us.

I also own two Labs, one black & a new yellow pup, but had the moniker before them (although I pick up their “trash” quite often !)

Let’s try that again (sorry if it double posts). “Elwood” is a Blues Brothers reference and I go to Syracuse University.

Roger the Shrubber is a character in Monty Python who’s onscreen for about three and a half seconds. My friends have a collectively British sense of humor, and whenever somebody needs a screenname for something and asks the others for suggestions, Roger the Shrubber is invariably the advice that no one ever takes. So I took it. Sadly, someone else already had Roger the Shrubber first, and rather than be Rodger the Shrubber [I mean honestly, that ‘d’ just looks absurd] I stuck the most useless ATL code in the word up front instead.

That’s a common refrain in medieval poetry, I think.

My handle, of course, comes from Gilbert and Sullivan’s The Mikado – it’s the name of the scary middle-aged lady who’s after the dashing tenor hero. It doesn’t suit my personality at all, though, so I’m thinking of changing it…

BTW, I always thought Seven was a Voyager fan.
