The White Rabbit Project on Netflix, anyone watching?

It has the erstwhile buildteam from the MythBusters. Actuallyquite good. and unlike the MythBusters they actually look at how feasibly something is.

I am not because I was not aware of it, but now I am and I will. Thank you!

Sort of sorry to see them being typecast like this, but I’ll check it out when it comes to iTunes, if the reviews are favorable.

Just found the show yesterday and watched the first episode.

I also like how they rated how feasible their things were, instead of just seeing how big wild they could make them. I’m wiling to watch a few more.

Are all the episodes released immediately, or do they roll them out in groups or weekly?

The entire season is available now.

My Beloved and I binge-watched the first season over the weekend and found it quite entertaining. We were hooked from the first episode about superheroes(word to the wise: Do not give Kari “mind control” powers for real!).

I am up to ep4. Man their interpretation of Hitler was…unique.

I binged watched all the episodes. I really enjoyed it.

For the uninitiated: It’s similar to what they did on Mythbusters, in that they do do builds for every episode, but it’s more to demonstrate than to bust any “myths” or trying any real science — and some episodes have fewer builds than others. There’s a lot more storytelling in each episode, in that they all depend on a lot of dramatized re-creations (mostly tongue-in-cheek stuff), but well produced and entertaining.

Each episode always has a theme and 6 things they do a deep-dive on under that theme (with each host tackling two of them), then they deliberate and grade each of the six using 3 criteria, rating all to decide on which comes in at #1.

All-in-all, it’s good to see them back in action.

Just watched the first episode last night. I had mixed reactions about it. I was very impressed with Tori’s use of electricity as a super-weapon. Very cool and looked fantastic even if it wasn’t feasible or generally practical. On the other hand I was very under-whelmed by Kari’s attempt at “mind control”. In her place, I would have attempted to make Tori EAT and DRINK, instead of just tormenting him by making him spill everything. She did not demonstrate the least bit of control, just more… disruption. And cruelty. I got sick of watching her make him spasm and cackling like a crazy person. Then they ranked that one as the number one super-power. FAIL!

I like Kari in general and loved her on Mythbusters, so I don’t have anything against her. I just didn’t like this particular bit that she did.

Do the other episodes get better?

I don’t know about better, but they’re not quite the same.

The other episodes are not nearly as hands-on as the first. I feel like the first was a nod to everyone who is coming to the show expecting “Mythbusters 2.0, starring The Build Team.” They still do some building and experimentation in each episode, but that aspect gets dialed way back in the other episodes (granted, I’ve not watched the entire season, but this seems to hold true through the 5 episodes I’ve seen).

I’m digging the show. Yeah, the first one is a bit of an anomaly. The others settle down a bit.

I do like that they don’t just blow stuff up and jump up and down screaming. They do tend to torment Tori a lot, but he gets even in the stink bomb segment.

Another thing I like is that there’s a big lean towards history and storytelling. Often with original historical footage.

Okay, this sounds good. I’ll keep watching, thanks!
