The word recycle.

Is it redundant or just dundant?
It seems to me the word cycle would work just fine in most cases.

I’d consider the first round of manufacturing for a product to be the 1st cycle. After that, you recycle it back through the process.

But a cycle can not have one step.

Unless it’s a unicycle.

My unicycle has no steps

Ree… cy… kull?

I’m afraid i’m not familiar with the term, you adorable ragamuffin.

To obfuscate: how many cycles in a recycle?
Is it binary?

I’m probably being whooshed, but anyway…

I think John Mace got it right. The material goes through the “cycle” of being grown/mined/produced, manufactured into a product, sold, used, and discarded. “Recycling” means taking something from the end of this cycle and putting it through another cycle.

All part of the cycle.
