Just to clarify the situation and hopefully put it firmly to bed, you said (underlining mine):

The rule of thumb with pronouns that that they refer to the previous noun that matches them. (And by ‘match’ I mean plurality and gender-matching.) And that “god” sitting there at the start of the sentence can be interpreted as being the “he/him/his” that all the pronouns refer to. This results in the humourous readings where god doesn’t know how he himself sees things, where you (rightfully) don’t see much point in debating with god, and where god has a [del]starship[/del] webpage. And thus the joke, and thus the confusion, and thus the eventual collapse of civilization.
