New Mayan calendar found, researchers say the Maya believed in cyclical time.
Archaeologists found a room where Mayan astronomers wrote records on the wall 1200 years ago (and, if I know astronomers, they also wrote contact information for at least one takeout restaurant there).
The Maya did not predict that 12/21/2012 will be the end of the world. If anyone was thinking about running up their credit card bills in anticipation of the end, that’s probably not a good idea in light of recent research.
