The world sure is nicer through blue-tinted sunglasses...

My MPSIMS for the day…

I don’t know about the rest of the world, but here in CE colored sunglasses are all the rage. Lenses of blues, reds, greens, purples and yellows of all shades are all the rage. In fact, most are light enough to wear indoors as well as out. Seeing people in their business suits with bright green glasses on does take some getting used to, but still…

Well, I got me a pair of blue tinted shades and boy are they neat! It makes everything look softer. I’ve never owned sunglasses with any other tint than grey but now I’m not going back, it’s blue from here on out. And yes, these have UVA/B protection too, so my eyes are protected as well as comfortable.

Oh, and they are affordable too. Only about $15 to $20 for really nice looking shades. I used to only buy Ray-Bans, but losing them got to be a costly habit.

Coloured sunglasses have been popular around here on-and-off for a few years. For reasons I won’t get in to, they’re particularly popular among the pill-popping, night club-hopping set.

Myself, I have a funky blue pair and a yellow pair. They’re pale enough to wear indoors. The blue ones cost me the princely sum of $7; passing through the uni markets some time ago, a couple friends and I saw four pairs of sunnies on sale for $30 – we bought pink ones for the girls and blue for the boys.

The teenager (a life guard) has interchanging lenses. He can have amber, or blue. Both look good on him.

Cycling glasses usually have removable lenses - clear, black, orange and blue. The orange lenses are for bright lighting conditions, and the blue lenses for dull light. So somehow or other the blue lenses actually improve the clarity of what you see.

They also look very cool, which is why I’ve worn them for a few years, until I lost mine recently and got purple for a change.
