OK, everyone, there have been some cool games with some really obscure trivia involved. Gosh, they made me feel stoopit! If I can’t answer even one of those questions, what am I doing here on the boards trying to squash ignorance and all?
Here’s an easy quiz for you. The first person to answer all 10 correctly wins immense braggin’ rights.
How long did the Hundred Years War last?
Which country makes Panama hats?
From which animal do we get catgut?
In which month do Russians celebrate the October evolution?
What is a camel’s hair brush made of?
The Canary Islands in the Pacific are named after what animal?
(Carpodacus purpureus) - Depends on sex and subspecies - Rose on adult males, brightest on head and rump, with brownish coloring on wing and tail. Adult females and immatures are heavily streaked brown and white, adult females also have a whitish eybrow and cheek stripe. The Pacific coast subspecies C.p. californicus is buffier and more diffusely streaked than the more widespread C.p. purpureus, especially in females. (Found throughout eastern plains states and east coast US, west coast US, Baja California and Canada (noticibly absent from the western plains and US Rockies).
Could have, but I’m here to fight ignorance too! (Okay, I may put you to sleep in the process, but ya’ll be educated, dangit! - 'Taint my fault that the Purple Finch practices sexual dimorphism!)
