What is the number of Earth. If you were to take “ambient” numbers of earth in all spectrums… Its algorithmic, biometric, gravitonic, electromagnetic frequency and form…what conclusions could you make from these figures? What is the World’s average or nomer, mathematically and intrinsically?
Gettin a little heavy in here for a Friday night I would say.
How about, what is the world’s misnomer?
…
OT: How did you delete your own post, Shagnasty?
Of course I want it’s negative, too. Two sides to every equation after all.
For starters, I’d conclude that you have no idea what an algorithm is.
Curse you, Oakminster! That was my witty retort!
As long as you’re talking geometric and not arithmetic averages, I would figure the world’s number, insofar as is has meaning by your definition, is pretty close to one. The human scales of 1 meter, 1 second, and other units developed to describe everyday things with countable numbers are nice and intermediate.
For example, atoms are ten orders of magnitude smaller that people, while the earth-sun distance is 11 orders of magnitude larger. In fact, the geometric mean of the Bohr radius (atomic unit) and the astronomical unit is eerily close to pi.
So 42 is barely an order of magnitude high – not bad!
Can someone explain the question to me? slowly and with small words. Please.
Which kind of average? There are at least three kinds that would apply here.
- Arithmetic: avg(a,b)=(a+b)/2
- Geometric: avg(a,b)=(a*b)[sup].5[/sup]
- Harmonic: avg(a,b)=1/(1/a+1/b)
Can’t be explained. It’s semantically and mathematically meaningless.
You are familiar with the word GIGO, right?
Nomers love to dogsled.
then I got it right the first time!
Dude… wait. What?

Or, as I always like to ask my clients when they’re complaining about report totals, “What number do you want to see?”

I don’t know the world’s number, but I do know the world’s a dress.
