Throws out planned recipe for tonight’s dinner…
As mentioned, you can use “<big>” and “<small>”.
<big>The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog.</big>
becomes
The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog.
You can also chain “<smalls>” together (<small><small>text</small></small> and so on:
small
smaller
even smaller
obnoxiously small
(As far as I can tell, our new robot overlords won’t let us use the <big> that way. You can only yell so loud on Discourse! Or maybe I just haven’t figured out how to do it.)
There is a very limited way to use color, using the “<del>” (for “delete”) and “<ins>” (for “insert”):
The “<del>” (and “</del>”) tags yield a pink outline while the “<ins>” (and “</ins>”) make a green outline.
Nah, just make sure the center of the squirrel reaches a temperature of at least 160°F and you’ll be fine. For extra safety and tangy flavor, marinate the squirrel in Clorox for about 6 hours under UV grow-lights.*

I like the cut of your jib.
Cases of bubonic plague pop up every so often. AIUI, it’s easily cured with modern antibiotics, which were less readily available in the Middle Ages. However, a case in the backwoods of a third world country (or even in China in the hinterlands), where medical care is less available, that could become a problem I suppose.
Even in a first world nation with modern medical care it’s a problem if it’s not caught in time - it can still kill, and it can also maim. Not something to be taken lightly. Of course, it generally makes you so frickin’ sick you’re going to look for a doctor pretty quick.
Just one of the latest little “surprises” from the Year 2020 was Grant Imahara suddenly dying at age 49. Naturally, I went over to YouTube just to watch some old Mythbusters clips in memoriam. Pretty much the first thing that came up was this full episode from 2010–the “President’s Challenge” episode, featuring Barack Obama being sober and dignified (and a little bit nerdy), talking about being a fan of Mythbusters (along with his daughters) and how important it is to encourage young people to get interested in STEM and just generally being Presidential.
Boy, that was a double gut-punch of painful nostalgia.
