I thought someone was playing a Cardinals theme. I’ve bounced Brock back and forth between my main list and one of my alternates. Wouldn’t you know it, he was an alternate on this year’s list. Dammit.

Lou Brock held the stolen base record for many years. One of my favorite sports moments was the day that Rickey Henderson broke his record and was all “Today I AM the greatest!” And then later that day Nolan Ryan went out and pitched his fourth (or fifth?) career no-hitter. As a lifelong Cardinals fan who grew up watching Lou Brock from the Busch Stadium bleachers, it did my heart good to see Henderson taken down a peg or two.
Brock and Henderson were diametrically opposites in personality. While being interviewed, Brock was quiet and humble, Henderson was…not.
Bob Gibson, Cardinal pitcher, passes at age 84.

I was just checking my list and to my surprise one of my Franks is dead (Brent Carver on the 4th of August), which I believe is 32 points. It’s astounding.
