But don’t we already have an Enormous Penis Statue displayed prominently on public land?
Not that we can’t make room for another. There’s always room for a giant penis, I always say…
Er. Did I phrase that badly?

Firstly, I find the decision in the OP absolutely ridiculous and offensive. In recent years, the March on Washington has been one of the consistently biggest protest utilizing the Lincoln Memorial. To cut out this fact is preposterous and turns history into whitewashed propaganda. Historians at least attempt to report truefact not goodfact.
Secondly, to those whining about seperation of Church and state, to my knowledge no lawsuit has ever been won simply on the grounds of a religious monument being put on public property. Rather, the grounds would be the refusal of said public officials to allow the construction on equal grounds of monuments to any other religion which wished to install one.
In the spirit of Christmas, let us demonstrate our love of the Savior by the depth of our contempt for gay people.
Ah! Thank you! I was sitting here for, like 20 minutes going over acronyms and even making up new ones (SOCAS= Stupid OverCoat Assisted Sex? No…). Don’t know why I never stumbled over the right one.
raises hand I could design that!..
Coupla things.
The link no longer connects to a story mentioned in the OP. I tried doing a search at the main Advocate site and came up emty as well.
Also tried looking at the web site for “Public Employees for Environmental Responsibility”(www.peer.org) to see if there was a mention there . The site was down when I checked.
I also tried to independently verify the story through a Google search and came up nada.
Can anyone point me in the direction of a story verification? The story may or may not be true…but the Advocate is an advocacy group for its position. If I quoted a piece from say the National Right To Life group, I suspect folks would want some independent verification.
TIA

You know, it’d suck to have a penis as sharp and pointy as the Washington Monument is. I mean, get too involved in the passion and you’ve accidentally skewered your lover. If my penis were like that, I’d be like Pinocchio in a demented session of masturbation: taking the sandpaper to ol’ Woody.

On the topic at hand, this is truly a ridiculous decision, in my opinion. Per the article linked in the OP (which is now here):
How can we really know for sure what Lincoln would and wouldn’t have supported? Furthermore, does it really matter? The Lincoln Memorial has a history of being the stage for popular and unpopular demostrations. This really strikes me as being bizarre.
Well I did some more rooting around and found another link to the story.
This one is from the Washington Post.
Actually the story dates back to November 10th. It’d be interesting to see what the current status of the story is.
DTS, Don’t you think anyone who wants to take down an American, secular, holiday symbol, because it hurts their widdle feelings, is an anti-American dickweed? I do.
Oh, come off it, milroy. We all know you don’t think.
Can we at least assume it will be faaaabulous?
Example?
Sure I do. I think you’re an idiot, for example. Will that be all?
Example?
Christmas trees are neither American nor secular.
Why do right wingers resort to name calling so often?
