Happened before does not = right. Any documentary which deliberately (note that word because there’s no such thing as unbiased works) slants the truth as is known for the sake of outside forces becomes flat-out propaganda. I detest it where I can see it, although I’ve probably fallen victim to it as well.
Gee how did you miss the part where Moore flat out said that he would not himself allow another statue regarding different religions in the court? His stance was that only the Ten Commandments were the law’s roots and thus any other statue had no place there. Thus, the statue got yanked as violating SOCAS. At least thats my understanding of the case as it took place.

Has anyone else noticed that it’s not just footage of gay rights demonstrations which have been removed from this video, but also footage of pro-choice demonstrations, anti-Vietnam war demonstrations and pro-feminist demonstrations? Sheesh!!! It’s a wonder they’re allowing footage of civil rights demonstrations in there, although I suspect they would have had a harder time arguing Lincoln would not have supported them.
Also, much as I admire Lincoln, his presidency was the one which suppressed the rights of the American people more than any other one. Admittedly, there was cause for this, but he did suspend rights such as habeas corpus, etc.
I grew up in a town in which a lot of people had the mindset, “if you don’t look just like us and think like us, you’re worthless and don’t deserve to be heard.” As a result I’ve very little regard for that mindset. These things happened. They’re part of American history, whether you regard them as highly as America’s participation in the Berlin Airlift or as lowly as the interment camps during World War II. If history, or at least its depiction, is rewritten to match the views of one group, then it is no more than propoganda, and I expect better of my adopted home.
