There's one less pug in the pugluvr house.

We put down our sweet Chubby this morning. She had been vomiting most of her food for more than a month, and we had tried everything to cure her, but it turns out it was stomach cancer. She was 13 years old, which is a good age for a pug, but God it sucks. The other old pug is searching for her, unable to understand. I keep subconsciously searching for her, too. I’m not stumbling over her in the kitchen, and I’m not shooing her away from in front of cupboards so I can open them.

Well, she had a good life with us, where she had assumed the role of household deity. 'Bye, sugar-sweet. Mom misses you horribly.

I’m sorry to hear that, **pugluvr
**. :frowning:

Oh, dear! I’m so sorry Pugluvr. I am bawling especially about you shooing her away from the kitchen cupboards. I have an old boy who does the same thing. He’s 11. I don’t look forward to his passing. Pugs are such lovely little companions, it’s terrible when they leave us. My most heartfelt condolences.

:frowning: Sorry.

:frowning:

:frowning: pretty much sums it up for me too.

I am so very sorry.

Remember, you will see her again one day at The Rainbow Bridge.

pugluvr I’m so so sorry. :frowning:

:frowning:

She’s probably laying in front of some cosmic cupboard door with my Newfie (what is it about dogs and cupboards?).

I’m sorry. :frowning:

Hopefully she’s hanging out with my Viper.

It’s rough, I know. My doggie is almost nine (and very big, i.e., has a shorter probable lifespan), and every day I hug her, pet her, and do nice things for her. I’m sure you did the same, and the best consolation you can take is that you gave Chubby one of the best lives a dog could have, and she repaid you the best way a dog can: in unconditional love.

She’s dreaming now, of a doggie Heaven where every squirrel has a broken leg and every trash can is full of meaty chicken bones and has a side door.

Thanks for the replies, all. They meant a lot to me. It’s a bit better today, and it’s good to know she’s no longer in pain.

Tupug, are you owned by a pug, too?

Doggies are so wonderful. It’s so sad when they have to leave us.

So sorry, pugluvr.

Still pining for my chocolate lab, Fish, who went to the bridge in 1989… GfH.

Pugluvr, I’m owned by two pugs (boy and girl) and a chihuahua (satan spawn). They are like chips, you can’t have just one.

Oh, pugluvr, I’m so sorry! Our pets are such loving companions, and it’s so hard when they die. My Boston Terrier that I’d had since I was a child died earlier this year, and I still miss her terribly. But jackelope is right; if there is a Heaven, it’s filled with happy dogs.

I’m sorry for your loss. My former co-worker had a shih-tzu and a pug, and she brought them to work, where they had the run of the office. The pug was the first I’ve ever met and was a little sweetheart. The little buggers have grown on me since.

AudreyK, the little buggers are insidious. They’re not quite like any other breed of dog, and if you ever weaken and adopt one, you’re done for. No other dog will ever seem quite as fun or silly or sweet, so you will never feel complete without a couple of them around at all times. Be warned.

i’m sorry. there is nothing like dog love.

Heartbreaking. I’m so sorry.
