hmm…all this angry speaking between our friend in the UK and we here in the US makes me sad. Can’t we all just get along? I mean, really, it’s not as though we should be all pissy at one another for stuff that happened during the colonial period. and also, Malacandra, it’s not like the indigenous of the aforementioned countries just asked for freedom and you guys were like, “woah! why didn’t we think of that before? You got it!” It took a lot of protest, and in the US’ case (as I believe you were referring to when you said you don’t take responsibility for former colonies’ actions) we had to fight tooth and nail.
