They cut the words “blows up” in the episode tonight. Eric says he is getting a gift for Donna. Kelso askes if it is firecrackers, because “If it is something that goes [silence] then I will go halfsies.” The closed captioning still has the words blows up there. I can’t believe that they felt it necessary to omit that phrase.
FOX not airing Independence Day I can understand, but this seems a bit excessive. Hell, he was talking about firecrackers the line before. This is not a reference to plastique explosives lining the roof of a building a la Die Hard. At worst I’m think a cherry bomb in a toilet with that line.
So the dialog is supposed to be
“If it is something that goes blows up then I will go halfsies.” ?
Actually, it would be
“If it is something that goes (BOOM or BANG) then I will go halfsies.”
It would read like that in CC because “BOOM” or “BANG” would not make sense to their deaf viewers while “blows up” would.
