THEY are the fascists, the traitors and the anti-ameircan liars

And you. The Ann Coulter of the SDMB. You have no standing to oppose him whatsoever. Your ideas have failed. It is time for new leadership. And the problem with Democrats is that they don’t like leaders. That’s why they manage to set themselves up to run the whole shebang, and then step on each other’s toes more than teenagers at a prom dance. The only thing your party is hanging on for is waiting for the Democrats to self-destruct. And then you’ll step in with your fucking nose in my crotch, demanding to know what I’m doing all the time. Your papers, please!

 IF ONLY! What legislation package are you looking at?

As an American, and as a voter, and as a taxpayer, I have EVERY standing to oppose him.

So, was Obama lying when he campaigned for single payer, or is he lying now, when he obstensibly doesn’t want it? n.b. you can’t have it both ways.

The one he campaigned on. 2:16 in the video link. Enuf said.

Looks like someone needs to watch the little cartoon about how a bill becomes a law again. HINT: The President’s role only comes in at the very end.

Your vote is finished. The decision has been made. You should be ashamed for opposing the President of your country.

Don’t be so stupid with your false dichotomies. Times change. Leaders shouldn’t be cardboard cut-outs that cannot change with the times. Politics is the art of compromise. A change in position does not mean there has been a lie of any kind at any time. It means that he is willing to grow and learn, and change his mind when people with good arguments convince him that he is wrong. We should have more people like him right here on our board.

And at the very beginning. It is his leadership that helps Congress to mold the laws it submits to him. Congress can’t lead. 500 people can’t lead. Only one can lead. Congress should get its head out of its ass and stop squabbling over piddly shit.

But it looks like many people in Congress don’t like his healthcare plan. Or are they not included in the “we” that should “get the hell out of his way”?

They ESPECIALLY are included.

No, it’s not, no, it hasn’t , and no I shouldn’t. Seek help.

Wouldn’t say “get out of the way!” Will say “Lead, follow, or get out of the way!”

OK, dude, that’s what I’m saying. You want Congress to “get out of the way.” But this crazy system we’ve set up says that Congress makes the laws. So, it’s completely insane to say that Congress should “get out of the way” so the President can lead–Congress makes the laws. If Congress doesn’t want to make a new law that the President wants, then that’s not “getting in the way,” that’s just doing what Congress does (i.e., to make laws or decide not to make them).

Right. That’s why I never opposed anything Bush did. I wonder why my democrat friends were so pissed?

I think thay all members of congress that vote in favour of whatever the plan is shoul immediately get out of wahtever healthcare/insurance plan the have -including the sweet one they get in Congress- and get the “regular” one they vote for, including their family.

You should be ashamed of making such a statement. That’s a really heinous thing to say, Lib.

It’s difficult to believe, based on a cursory familiarity with your posting history, that you would make such a statement without irony. And I can’t help but wonder, in all seriousness, whether the new-found medication you’ve publicly praised for its therapeutic effects might be having other, more profound side effects, of which you may not even be aware.

Seriously. “We’ve switched Liberal’s usual medication for a lightly scented mixture of vinegar and water. Let’s see if the SDMB notices.”

Well, that’ll do.

I don’t think any of us know Lib well enough to make any such suggestion. Lib, if this stuff makes you well, or even makes you feel well, your political persuasions are trivia.

Unless, of course, you start posting paens of admiration for Andy Jackson. Then, we’re gonna have us a little talk.
