"They died in my care, but God allowed that to happen"

CarnalK, you need to put up a few flares and a Roman candle the next time you want to spring some sarcasm, I think.

An interesting idea. Wonder if it will catch on?

Personally, I’m blaming the Waltons for putting it into this guys head that it was safe for the kids to ride on top of the bushes. I’m also suing the estate of Constable for the painting “The Haywain”

Obviously dangerous influences upon this guy.

Actually, I blame Jackass.

As much as it might grate the faithful, I do believe CarnalK makes a sound argument. Imagine if you will, that one of the two kids had survived the accident – anyone doubt we’d be hearing all sorts of “Divine Intervention” claims?

Great product this godperson. All the credit, none of the blame.

Well I can’t prove to you that I’m an atheist, you’ll have to decide for yourself.

I was just arguing from the context of belief. If he accepts that god exists(which apparently some non-murderers also accept), then his statement about “god letting it happen” is perfectly valid. I would be surprised if the priest at the children’s funeral didn’t mention “god’s plan” a couple times as well.

i think it would be more plausible to say if the kids suddenly dropped dead, without outside causes that it would be God/Goddess/whatever’s taking them away…no?
