They're closing the net on Laci Peterson's husband

  • volunteer center closed after organizers meet with police

  • Modesto Police describe husband as “less than cooperative.”

  • Laci Peterson’s family issues statement that they believe the woman’s husband has lied to them and have urged him to cooperate with police.

I can’t find it, Igloo. Got a link?

Go to www.foxnews.com pug. It’s right there on the first page.

As long as we’re making wild accusations, how’s this one:
Laci Peterson finds out her husband is having an affair, so she takes out an insurance policy on herself without telling her husband and disappears at a time when she knows her husband will be alone and thereby have no alibi. Maybe she even has her family members in on it, tricking her husband into smiling at the funeral. Seems to me I’ve got as much evidence for my “theory” as you guys do for yours.

Oh, well. If Fox is reporting it…

Get a rope!!!

[sub]screw that “due process” shit![/sub]

Fox is no great news source; you’ll get no argument from me; it’s just what was on when I heard it.

I fail to see how “wild accusations” are being made. It is a really tragic situation that seems to be pointing toward her husband (yes, I would say that even without Fox news – I believe in what I said above about the chances for random abduction being slim).

I quoted the pertinant sentences–unless I’ve somehow forgotten how to read (always a possibility I suppose) it sounds to me like you were saying that having the leaked allegations proved true was no biggie. The ‘to each his own’ comment ya know.

And for everyone arguing due process–yes yes, I agree. However, no one here has been saying he’s guilty, just that he’s a good suspect given this (admitedly uncorroborated at this point) information. And you DO agree he’s a good suspect, right?

YOU FORGOT!

…how to preview.
That I’ll admit too. ;0

Maybe Laci Peterson’s husband is under suspicion just because he is her husband. I don’t think the police are ignorant to the fact thatmore than twice as many women are killed by their husbands or boyfriends as are murdered by strangers. If you need a more concrete example, how about Carol Stuart.

I’m not drawing any conclusions myself, but at this point I think the police are making a safe bet my training their eye on Laci’s hub.

God help ANYONE who is falsely arrested and tried by a jury of some of these posters. Jiminey Christmas, the guy hasn’t even been charged and some folks are accusing him of another disappearance??? Yeah, I know, “Fox News” reported it - you were just repeating what they said…and Lt. Calley was just following orders. Sorry, not buying it…

Good Lord, why not let the system play itself out before we reduce our predictions to writing like this horrible case was just another playoff game.

I’ll take the Bucs by 4 1/2, BTW.

Did anyone read the entire Fox news article?

Sounds to me like they are just reporting what was reported to them?

Exactly who’s accusing him of anything? All I see (unless I’ve misread every single post in this thread) is people mentioning the reason why it’s logical to suspect the husband of a missing woman. Suspect and accuse are two very different things.

Oh, no; I think you misunderstand. What I was lambasting was your rather silly assertion that he didn’t already have real problems. They way you wrote your comments made it seem like “…having a missing, pregnant wife and being crowned the favorite for “Foul Play Fiend” by numerous people (including some in the media)…” weren’t real problems at all.

There was nothing in my post to indicate anything else.

Last night we heard something to the effect that Peterson is now in Los Angeles, passing out pictures of his missing wife. The decidedly irreverent Mr. Pug said, “Next he’ll be in Mexico, passing out pictures of Andrew Jackson.”

Now he’s in Los Angeles? You know, I heard there were some unsolved murders in Los Angeles…

Well what I meant was that ‘if you think he’s got problems not, just wait til they get more evidence’. I think we’re talking past each other here.

…“just wait until they find some real evidence”? That’s just bizarre. In NZ, we’re not even allowed to discuss cases until conviction-it’s just strange to read all this speculation over a case in a country where you are allegedly “innocent until proven guilty.”

The “just wait until they find some real evidence” is a dangerous route to take in law enforcement-and scarily enough it happens more often than it should. Making the “evidence fit the suspect”, instead of “the evidence telling the story” is the mistake that put’s innocent people into jail…

Modbee.com has just reported that there is no link to the missing student.
