Things conservatives will suddenly worry a lot about when Trump leaves

  1. The deficit
  2. Honesty
  3. Checks and balances
  4. Complying with subpoenas
  5. Respect for women
  6. Family values
  7. Age/health/mental competency of the President
  8. Swearing/curse words used by public officials
  9. “Unqualified” ratings by the American Bar Association for prospective judges
  10. Financial conflicts of interest
  11. Russian aggression
  12. The sanctity of elections

Anything else? I want to start a list that we can start referring to in future debates.

Only if the new president is a Democrat. If it’s another Republican, status quo.

  1. Press conferences.
  2. Golf.
  3. The 25th Amendment.

With any luck they’ll be very concerned indeed about showing their faces in public. I would have redhats in 2025 America be treated like Nazis in 1950 Germany.

Heck, just the Constitution in general…

Tan suits
The “Shallow” State

So, to keep the numbering straight:
16. The Constitution

and:

17: Personal Responsibility

  1. North Korea
  2. Transparency about presidential candidates’ tax returns
  3. Cronyism and nepotism in presidential administrations

I’d say truth and fact-checking. They would be quick to point out anything inaccurate/wrong said by President Biden (to be fair, Biden is a bit of a whopper machine himself)

The 13,000 tweets and 2,000(?) lies of Trump would be made to seem as if never happened.

Actually, more than 16,200 “false or misleading claims” as of January 19, according to Washington Post fact checkers. And I saw a more recent statistic, just recently, putting the number at around 18,000.

President Trump made 16,241 false or misleading claims in his first three years, Glenn Kessler, Salvador Rizzo and Meg Kelly, Washington Post, January 20, 2020.

  1. Massive arrests of politicians and their associates. Though they’ll worry for a different reason than implied in the OP.
  1. Intervention by political appointees in criminal justice matters.

I doubt that you will see Democrats nominate a judge with an “unqualified” rating.

Do you think that’ll stop Republicans from complaining about it?

Obstruction of Justice

  1. The President obeying the law
  2. Congressional oversight
  3. Presidential decorum
  4. Competence

Highly doubtful. Disrespect for women is almost as much of a bedrock conservative value as tax cuts.

  1. Nepotism (Hunter Biden)
  2. Divisive Rhetoric by the POTUS
  3. The Hatch Act
  1. The fact that flat-out denying you said something even though it’s on tape 5-6 times leading to consequences

“Things conservatives will suddenly worry a lot about when Trump leaves”
If there were justice, Speaker Pelosi or Pres pro-tem Leahy would laugh at any Congressperson who brings such a matter up, and have the Sgt-at-Arms escort the comic back to his seat saying “Don’t waste the Chamber’s time on comedy practice.”

IIRC that’s just the statements Trump made that were serious or important enough to be explicitly fact-checked. The total number lies is at least an order of magnitude larger.

So you’re practicing your comedy too!
