Things I (we?) should buy in the MMP

The thing is, these types of calls and the late-day spiraling have been going on for a while and are becoming progressively worse. I know that infections and anesthesia can cause that type of behavior, but this was happening before the infection. Hopefully, the assessment will put any concerns to rest.

FCM, I’m sorry that poor Ollie still isn’t feeling well.

{{{taters and family}}}

Up, caffeinating, breakfasted and fixing to do KP. Grocery shopping is on the agenda, so’s I’ll have to put on leaving the house pants again.

Stay safe and healthy y’all!

indeed, it is better to know for sure. you have a tough road ahead, i hope the pitfalls are few and far between.

FCM, I meant Otis. I do not know where I got Ollie. Sorry.

In other news, my son will be probably be taking Zeus back to the shelter. Great Pyrenees are nocturnal guard dogs. Zeus will not sleep indoors, and, of course, barks, which is not great for the neighbors. If my son isn’t paying constant attention to him, he’s into everything and destroying it.

I feel badly for both of them. My son is going to give it one more night, but I doubt it’ll work out. I’d take him on, but I already have two dogs, and I just can’t do it. Zeus was good, if a little aloof at times, for me, but I haven’t been there 24/7. I felt a little sick to my stomach when my son sent the message, but he has to sleep and rest too, and said he’s just been miserable. That is probably felt by Zeus as well which could affect his behavior. B was so excited about getting this dog. He rushed down to the shelter as soon as it opened to get him and I know he feels terrible about it not working out.

Yesterday I was almost later for work because an ambulance and fire engine were carting off one of my neighbors. This morning an ambulance was at a different building. Hope there’s not a Hantavirus outbreak or something in the neighborhood. Not too bad in the Mez, apart from nobody in our service area knowing what their Zip Code is. I had to finish helping the one lady loading her set, since she’s one of the slower loaders. I came home, filled and put the Onan feeder back together. Spot keeps trying to gnaw on my fingers.

Basically a BLT.

:face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Hope Otis feels better, though.

So you’re saying he rocks at geology?

After all that(and what came before), you deserve a good vent or 6.

41 and overcast today.

A restless night’s sleep as the hip pain kept waking me up.

Poached eggs on toast and bacon this morning. It’ll be leftover bean stew for dinner. The niece is coming over tomorrow. I’ll be making pasta with poached salmon and cream. A dish from the Silver Spoon restaurant.

Exercised, but not willingly. All puzzles puzzed with varying degrees of success.

Morning all. Up early (why do I always wake up early when I set my alarm clock?). Got the house ready for the contractors, who arrived about 8:15am and have set to work. Rainy with some tunder-boomers later so a good day to be inside. Temperature is about 68F, but with the rain it won’t be getting much warmer. My job is staying the heck out of the way of the working folks, so will be at the computer for most of the day, I think. Made my Dr. Appointment for my annual checkup, 12 May at 1:30pm, just about the time my medication prescriptions will run out, so that will work out.

boo fae, hope the eye meds help, never had an eye ulcer to the best of my knowledge, but it does not sound like a pleasant thing…

FCM, sounds like a good decision, Mom is mom, but 4 hours driving plus tolls/gas is a bit much. Wish they would get hit by the Cluehammer and agree to meet you at least halfway…

Knots, my hearing aid charger is less than 2 years old so it hopefully has some life left to it, but I may do a little browsing to see what a replacement/spare would run. And interesting history of bubble wrap.

And here I thought you were visiting your urologist…

And was out for about 40 minutes getting something for the contractor. Also procured a new mailbox that they will replace. Well, onward…

Taters, it does sound like your Mom needs that assessment, those sound a lot like the symptoms my dad had, so some type of care may be indicated. Best wishes. And as for son and Zeus, at least the shelter will have some feedback and can hopefully place him somewhere that his habits can be met.

And onward into the day. Take care all.

rocky, best wishes to lager.

FCM, maybe it was something in the chickens…hope Otis gets to doing better.

strong text

Sorry, Boo Fae, I missed the eye ulcer and hope it resolves well.

I’m definitely experiencing the anesthesia/antibiotic/surgery stupid even two weeks out, but will go to a writing group today anyway.

I’ve had to return a few cats over the decades. I gave them love and could make suggestions. My rule of thumb is not to keep a pet if I’d get rid of a boyfriend with the same behavior.

Taters I’m sorry to hear about Zeus. I’m sure your son feels awful.

When my mother was hospitalized, she would get confused regularly. The hospital just stressed her out.

Go to your room and think about what you’ve just done.

Boofae - An eye ulcer sounds horrible. I hope it’s not too painful.

I made it to the ENT yesterday to see what was up with an earache and to talk in general about my tinnitus/hyperacusis/pressure/vertigo/nausea issue.

He saw nothing wrong in my ear canals, then he pressed on my jaw joints next to my ears and told me to open my mouth wide. Yooowwwwtch! “TMJ” he said promptly. He’s pretty sure that all my ear issues are not Meniere’s, but TMJ disorder. To my surprise, TMJ disorder can cause tinnitus, vertigo, and nausea. Up until now I thought it was just a sore jaw. He told me to use hot compresses against the joints and to take nsaids, and also to take a couple of vitamins that are thought to lessen tinnitus. I bought those and will see if they have any effect (skeptical).

So I’m feeling better about the whole issue. If I can keep TMJ disorder at bay with a heating pad and nsaids, that’s better than incurable Meniere’s.

Do you prefer it in pounds or kilograms?

Perhaps FCM could loan you Otis to take care of your moles…

We always used crumpled-up newspapers.

BLBABTB.

57 Ferrets currently, out of 64 expected. Highs in the 60s all week (except for the 70 on Sunday), with lows in the 40s. Way too much rain, though.

I have no professional qualifications, but this reminds me of my FIL as his dementia worsened. I don’t know if he was ever evaluated, but we surely knew what was going on. It was heartbreaking, especially for MIL and for FCD. I’m so sorry you and your sister have to deal with this - there’s nothing good to be found in the situation. Hugs to you both. And to your son and Zeus - obviously he’s a special needs pupper.

Only annual? My doc sees us both twice a year. I guess different practices/insurance have different rules.

We’re home. I managed to get all of the windows to open - the magic of a dish soap and water solution squirted in the tracks plus a big-ass suction cup with a handle to jiggle each window and get it sliding. I need to research lubricants because replacing the windows would run into 5 figures, not including cents. So that ain’t gonna happen. I also finally remembered to bring home the lights that need to be tarn-x’d.

We lunched at Red Robin (OMG - when did they get so $$$?) and I’m about to make a new seat and back for a director’s chair. It’s gray and wet and icky out with more rain on the way, so no yard work today. Maybe tomorrow.

And back to work.

Hi! Just popping in to say I’m scheduled for back surgery tomorrow morning. My daughter is on her way westward and will drive me, etc.

I’ve been so cat-and-dogged, I just haven’t had time to post. Recovery should give me more time for that. I have read all, though, and am sending hugs to all.

Hugs back to you, and best wishes for the smoothest possible recovery.

I’m sorry to hear this. I hope that both your son and Zeus find better fits.

Hugs and good vibes for the surgery.

Groceries are bought and I may well do a load or two of laundry this afternoon. Once a small, reddish dog is finished with his nap and off my lap.

Nellie - Break a leg with the surgery.

May it all go great with a speedy recovery!

The chair back piece is done. I’m taking a breather before attacking the seat. Otis hasn’t eaten today, tho he has had water, and he’s been lying around pretty much non-stop. Why can’t he just say “I have a tummy ache” or “My spleen is a bit off-kilter” or something?? You just know as soon as we walk into the vet’s office, he’ll be just fine and dandy. Well, we’ll see what tomorrow brings.

Dreary, dreary day - hard to stay motivated.

All the best to you, Nellie!!

Howdy Y’all! We peopled a lot for us today. We went to get shorn and procure provisions only to discover that the Great Clips by the Pubic Sto’ does not open until eleven a.m. on Wednesday now. This is a new development. We procured provisions and stowed them and then went to the Asia hog trough Buffet for today’s main need to feed. Our local votin’ precinct is open today from two p.m.-seven p.m. for early votin’. So, after nappage, we decided to go forth again to get shorn and then stop by on the way back to vote. We were able to accomplish this. However, we left da cave three times today! Oh well, tomorrow is supposed to be rainy all day so we can hermit in da cave and stay dry. A chawklit cake lept into our grocery buggy, so we have that to look forward to as well.

Taters just wow! It would be good for your mom to be in a rehab facility for a while, it seems. Hopefully an assessment can take place while she’s there. Havin’ been through similar stuff with my 'rents I can empathize and sympathize with you. Feel free to come in here and vent when you need to do so. This is the place for that and you have us on your side always.

Mollie the problem with sendin’ doggio to his room to think about what he’s done, is he will think of sump’n even worse to do next time.

Lucky while it is not wonderful news, at least TMJ can be somewhat kept in check, so there’s that I guess.

Nellie hope you are back to yourself soonest after the surgery. Glad you have your daughter with you for this.

I finished the director chair pieces and I’m pleased with the results. Here’s hoping they fits.

Otis is still not himself… dammit.

And the guy who said he’d buy our deck blocks didn’t contact me as promised, so the next guy in line will get a message.

Such an exciting evening.
