Things people do for charity that aren't worth it

Girl Scout troop is no the same as Girl Scout Council. Only 50-60 cents goes to the troop. The biggest chunk (over $2 a box) goes to the regional Girl Scout Councils.

And the national organization gets a royalty from the manufacturer. Which presumably is reflected as part of the “wholesale” price.

So? It’s the same org. What goes to the local council benefits the troop. Troop cant exist without the council. You know- insurance, payroll, tax filings, that sort of thing.

Not to the extent that they should get the bulk of the sales, especially since it’s the girls doing most of the work. The actual organization should not be relying on child labor to function.

The troop then should not be relying on child labor to function.

Without the council* there is no troop.*

It *all *goes to benefit the girls.
