I’d think Miller would be more like Salacious Crumb than Threepio.
Then they’ll get the government they deserve, like the third generation farmer literally crying because he’s losing the farm after nobody was around to harvest the crop anymore.
It’s unfortunate that the rest of us get the same government too.

There’s not really a good analog for Threepio among Donald’s sycophants. As much as Threepio was designed to be comic relief, and as much as he bumbled some things, he did possess some actual useful knowledge.
And he wasn’t a 100% full-time loathsome asshole.

I think that description could fit many of the Donald’s press secretaries. They stand at the podium and say stupid things, but they are at least designated mouthpieces.
Y’know, back in the day there was a phrase, “marriage of convenience.” It covered a multitude of circumstances: marrying for money, gays who wanted a straight public persona, and tneir spouses who knew it and were willing to be a part of it, asexuals and older people who married for companionship, people who married to share assets, etc. It’s a good, useful term, as in “Donald and Melania have a marriage of convenience,” and we can infer from it whatever we want.
Yeah, Threepio’s worst fault was that he was kinda needy.
Whereas Miller is just straight up hateful. (Literally filled with hate. You can see it in that video made when he was a high-school student.)
It’s to the point that whenever an image of them holding hands is shown, the first question on every mind was ‘how much $$$$ did she extract in exchange?’
No one; Trump just keeps him around because he’s gold.
To be fair, they had a lot of support from working people, unions, socialist and other parties that both led and pushed them.
And got voted out in the primaries.
Democracy can be a bitch.

Though the 1% has fairly effectively killed off unions, and poisoned the well on being Socialist (Upton Sinclair, where are you when we need you?)—there is still plenty of popular support for reining in our current Robber Barons.
