This was very useful when my cousin died—they emailed me her autopsy report, which I found depressing but illuminating. Other states, I can’t even find out why my relatives are in prison (though I’m certain it’s for good reason).
Great cite! Thank you. At 13 years ago, it’s an oldie but still plenty enough a goodie.
I’ll point out that Indiana Woman pulled that stunt. With honorable mention for Indiana Man in a supporting role. The event occurred in Florida, for a darn good Florida-style reason, and we know about it due to good old Florida open records laws, but I’ll credit the Hoosiers who done it first and foremost.
Sad story. The accused lost one of her daughters to a house fire some years ago; she tried to save the daughter but failed. Didn’t get counselling. Spiralled into bad drug abuse cycle.
Pled guilty and has been seeking drug and grief counselling while on remand.
Judge took that into account, but also recognized the potential danger she posed to the cabbie, pedestrians and people in the mall.
Five year sentence; one year remitted for time served, so four years remaining. Her behaviour will determine her release date.
