Oh my god I love your example. A lot of the times the attempts at humor here are really cringe worthy and not in the “oh he’s an adorable nerd that knows he’s being silly” way but in the “I’m truly embarrassed for that person and glad I am not him/her” way. It’s like a whole message board full of that guy in the office who thinks he is the office jokester with their “Is that your final answer?” coffee mug but really people are ducking into rooms when they see him coming down the hallway.
But every now and then I read something that makes me spit my drink out laughing so I keep coming back.

Could be worse. At a certain other board, they put these lame jokes and comments in quotation marks amid their user name, as if it were some kind of new nickname. As if that makes sense. E.g.,
Chef “at least they got a rise out of you” Guy
